The Palestinians who reach out for help act exactly like you would if you were living like them under the constant assault of violent genocide & you had the internet. You’d be frantic for help. You’d be thinking somebody out there must care if I live or die. Right? They can’t just not care, right?

A data center that doesn’t even exist can raise your electricity bill Consumers are finally pushing back on AI-driven data expansion. Will it matter?

Your electricity bill is rising. Naturally, you’re mad about it and looking around at who to blame. But it’s not a who, it’s a what — and the recent AI-driven data center construction spree is at least partly the reason why.

The advice in this piece applies to any U.S. city.

“What we’re seeing with ICE and the National Guard, more specifically, is the presence of a military force in communities.”

CLICK CHANGE CURRENCY. This looks like a huge goal but only £750 needed. This is tiny given all the costs of evacuation. ANYTHING helps.

The media have to start framing this accurately. The president is now functioning as a tyrant. The story is whether the other two branches of government will do anything to stop him.

For Jeni Britton, fiber helped her “get to a place in my life where I could ask for a divorce.” Five years ago, the company she founded, Jeni’s Ice Cream, was her whole life. She’d been running the business for more than 15 years, but increasingly, she was feeling lost and exhausted. She started going for long walks, hiking near the Appalachian Mountains outside of her hometown of Columbus, Ohio, and eating tons of blueberries. “Like, a quart a day,” she says. She quickly noticed that she felt better than usual — radically better. She suddenly had more energy; for the first time in her life, she started running in the woods. She dropped 20 pounds without much effort. Her skin looked better, her face less puffy. “Friends told me I was reverse aging,” says Britton, who is 52. “I just started to feel alive again,” she says. Her husband — with whom she shares two teenage children — is a “wonderful human being,” but they’d grown apart over the years. Eating more fiber helped her feel like herself again, and she realized it was time to make some big changes.

Ok I need to go do things, but this PMO. Jeni of Jeni's ice cream started going on very long walks but credits the blueberries with helping her decide to divorce her husband and feel better. And now she's selling fruit bars since it was fiber that fixed her life.

(NYT) - A federal appeals court on Monday upheld a $83.3 million jury award against President Trump for defaming the writer E. Jean Carroll in 2019, after she accused him of a decades-old rape in a Manhattan department store — an attack for which he was separately found liable of sexual abuse.

Trump order gives political appointees vast powers over research grants Researchers are alarmed that the move might upend a long-standing tradition of peer-review for grants.

There are a lot of details in yesterday's sweeping executive order, but the bottom line is that it gives political appointees immense power over scientific grants, which have until now been stewarded by career civil servants and experts.
