900lb crates full of onions in a field
The Coachella music festival is in the news with the minimum price of sold out 3-day ticket costing $549. Contrast that with "Nicolas" who is currently harvesting onions in the Coachella area and getting paid $22 for a $900lb crate. #WeFeedYou #coachella2026
Takeout container of the Neighborhood Bird bowl (Taiwanese curry fried chicken) from Ekiben (Baltimore restaurant) on a blue and white plaid blanket
Is Ekiben an appropriate picnic food? No, its messy as hell. Would I do this again? Absolutely
Need to use my Spring Break for National Board because I need that $10,000 stipend and also have 0 motivation to work on it soo 🙃
Was excited to listen to the Os on the radio.... I will be returning to my book now
Its opening day! Go O's ❤️
This anniversary is a reminder that a country can descend into fascism and choose democracy and accountability on the other side
And that regular people, in this case moms and a few international journalists, can change the course of history
In 1983, President Raúl Alfonsín created the National Commission on the Disappearance of Persons (CONADEP)
The commission released a report called Nunca Más (Never Again) in 1984 which enabled the trial of the military junta depicted in Argentina, 1985

The Abuelas of the Plaza de Mayo began the public search for their missing grandchildren in April of 1977.
They have found 140 grandchildren to date. The most recent one was identified in July of 2025

The military junta that took over escalated a campaign of terror against dissidents that resulted in the kidnap, torture, and assassination of more than 30,000 people.
500 were pregnant women were among the "disappeared". Their babies were stolen and given to families loyal to the regime
Today marks 50 years since Argentina's last coup detat.
I spent a long time looking for an English language explanation for why this anniversary is so important ... I failed
So here's why I chose to show this (dubbed) documentary to my students today:

Women and girls should be safe in movement work.
Holding gratitude and grief for Dolores Huerta’s dedication and bravery. Wishing she didn’t have to be so goddamned committed and brave.
So much love and solidarity to Ana Murguia, Debra Rojas, Dolores Huerta, and every other survivor. Chavez was just a man; women like them, then and now, are the true heroes of the farmworkers’ movement.
What a fun distraction in a fairly shitty March
¡Vamos Venezuela!
Regular baseball is back next week 🙂
The World Baseball Classic continues with the semifinal between Venezuela and Italy
Hopefully it wont be decided by a terrible strike call 🫠
¡Vamos Venezuela!
As a recovering people pleaser, I still feel very guilty when I tell people no just because I dont want to
Good morning! I went to sleep before the Venezuela v Japan game finished but turns out I saw all the scoring 🙂
What. A. Game.
Vamos Venezuela 🇻🇪
People say baseball is boring but both leadoff batters in the Venezuela v Japan World Baseball Classic quarterfinal hit homeruns
Group of 50+ Baltimore County educators standing in the middle of an Annapolis street with the State House in the background
Lobbied Baltimore County legislators in Annapolis yesterday with @tabco.org
We need
1. The right to strike for public sector workers
2. Our education support professionals (ESPs) like paraeducators, clerical staff, bus drivers, and cafeteria staff to have base pay of $25/hr
View of the Miami FC and DC United game at M&T bank stadium from section 553 row 30. The bottom ring of the stadium is full and the nosebleeds are about halfway full. The white goals on either end of the field are visible, but the players are just specs of pink or black.
Saw Lionel Messi score in real life and had Chiaparellis after
The world is scary but good things can happen too
First time Baltimore County has had a competitive Democratic primary for States Attorney in years 💃🏻👏🏻
Graded the assignment my students submitted at the end of class on Thursday in preparation for class tomorrow.
They averaged a 4.76/10. Median was 4/10. Mode was 4/10.
New plan for tomorrow - reteach
Having an emotionally draining week (mostly being mad at adults that are unprepared and/or unable to communicate) makes it very difficult to enjoy a day where my students seemed to learn what I set out to teach them
And people wonder why I dont want to be an administrator
My father started experiencing ALS symptoms in January of 2020. He was diagnosed in April. He died in November.
Hard not to draw parallels with Eric Dane
Eric Dane has passed away at 53 after a short battle with ALS
He will be remembered by many as McSteamy on Grey’s Anatomy, but he should also be remembered for his disability advocacy
He worked tirelessly to raise awareness for ALS, including how hard it is to get a diagnosis.
You should definitely go on this tour! Its a great way to spend a few hours supporting a local business and celebrating Black History Month
I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The littlest things can trigger a wave of grief...
I saw an article that said it's the 25th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death at the Daytona 500. I was four. My dad was obsessed with him so was too. We watched him die live. It's the first time i remember seeing my dad cry
I watched All the President's Men (1976) for the first time last night
Very good, but sad to think about how far the Post has fallen
What they won't tell you is that it takes an incredible amount of faith to teach children, especially in conditions that say otherwise.
You have to believe in something you're not going to see immediately. That's faith.
Yeah i gave them a strip of paper with sentence on it, they got to practice, and then each of them read theirs out loud in order
