Just a reminder that NWS is considered essential during a government shutdown. Meteorologists will still go to work, forecasts will still be made, watches and warnings will be issued, data will flow. We won’t be paid until the shutdown ends, but we’ll still protect life and property as always.

About 4 hours on the WIP today with 26km on the bike while evading actual thunderstorms.

The June 2nd, 1990 Ohio Valley tornado outbreak was so absurd. Imagine three supercells spaced by a county or two erupting and immediately producing an F4 on their first cycle. 🤯

That’s some generational type violent tornado production.
