A $1 million earner is treated exactly like a $200,000 earner or a $100,000 earner. All are subject to the wage base and all are taxed and receive benefits only on income up to the wage base.

Read up on the SSI Wage Base. A participant’s “coverage” under SSI is capped at this number. We only pay taxes on our income up to the wage base and we only receive benefits on income up to the wage base.
