Counterpoint; no we’re not. Sonic booms are as loud as they were in the 1970s. Physics remains.
I find that using parentheses (not using them) to express opposite effects is confusing (much clearer.)
BJPolS abstract of a research paper discussing the perception gap between elites and public opinion on foreign policy based on surveys of American elites and the public. It highlights a tendency for elites to view public opinion as more isolationist, impacting foreign policy decisions.

The company that’s named after a magical crystal ball used by wizards, thinks that park rangers, and people who help others around the world get life-saving drugs should not be thought of as priests.

If they settle on 15 years, someone needs to check in on Wendy Sherman and John Kerry to make sure they are not engaging in self harm.

I love how Americans think they can disagree with the Pope and be Catholic. Like it’s just another kind of protestantism.

An important question is, if they believe that, is it true, or is it a misperception based on ideology. For me, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that Iran today would be massively stronger and more prosperous if they had adopted “Islamism in one country” rather than the proxy strategy.

Let the record reflect that Lost Wax Process will not be playing at the Kennedy Center, nor have they or their representatives attempted to arrange any such performance.

The only stock photo of Melania Trump I ever want to see.
today's a great day to celebrate Florence Price and to let you all know about Dr. Samantha Ege's excellent book, "Southside Impresarios", about Black women classical musicians, including Price, who were active in Chicago during the interwar period

I see the point but it’s a somewhat rude way to characterize our Pres . . . Oh, wait, I see. Ok then.

Just to keep things in perspective, Trump threatened North Korea with nuclear war several times and ultimately accepted a tacit deal in which Kim said nice things about him and stopped testing nuclear weapons.
In Middleton news, incumbent mayor, Emily Kuhn defeated by Lisa Janairo 63–36. Ouch. Not unrelated, Mark Opitz wins alder seat, 66-33.

"Bloomberg examined Trump’s record of following through on threats to attack other countries and non-state actors.
"Looking at his first term, he made good on threats roughly 20% of the time.
"In his second term to date, that rate has risen to 50%."

The British Museum image shows a painted scene of a lion and a gazelle playing a board game, probably senet. They are seated on low stools, facing each other, across a low table on which a board game with black playing pieces is laid out. It is probably the popular ancient Egyptian board game senet. The gazelle sits on the left of the table facing the lion on the right. The animals are seated on their haunches, sitting upright, legs hanging down from the chair seat, and their forelegs raised, being used as arms. Each animal holds a game piece with their hoof and paw respectively. The gazelle is painted brown within a black outline. It has black hooves, two long, black, s-shaped curved horns, and a black dot for its eye. It has long pointed ears at the back of its head. The lion is painted a sandy brown within a black outline. It has a darker-brown shaggy mane and a black nose and eye. It’s mouth is ajar as if speaking. Detail from an ancient Egyptian illustrated papyrus from Deir el-Medina
