I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t entirely agree! For two reasons: inspiration from a existing concept is the basis of development (Metroidvania games aren’t just simple copies! It’s through constant iteration that we’ve come to create a unique style)

We’re currently working on an FTL-style game! At the moment, we’re laying the groundwork and the idea is to create a blend of FTL and Darkest Dungeon. It’s our biggest project yet, so we don’t want to take too many risks by trying out complex game design just yet!
