Went to see Beauty and the Beast in concert with the Melb Symphony orchestra - which was lovely - however I never realised how well-animated Cogsworth is and I may be simping for a clock rn

Regarding the recent villa holiday vid specifically: "Get some friends and save for a holiday!" misses the point.
That sort of experience is inconceivable to plenty of furs due to the very dysfunctions that lead them to the fandom.
Understandably, they're not keen to celebrate furry wealth-LARPing.

It's great to see furs find success in the status quo. Many of us for a while probably believed we'd never find success or live satisfyingly functional lives. I think people with wealth and status can still be great inspirations.
I don't believe those qualities should be *what is inspiring* though.

I'd like to think we're collectively more socially aware than to get caught up in that noise.
In-group conventional superficiality seems at odd-ends with the progressive values that underpin furry. "Come and be a loaded socialite with us!" just ain't it.

Personally I don't believe a community made up of minorities, queers, the socially misunderstood, the neurodivergent and the disadvantaged needs role models with $10k+ fursuits, custom avatars, expensive holidays and influencer-style hot takes.

This the type of thing I send to friends to get us both squirmy and this one did some WORK today lol

I didn't realize it was Lord and Miller until the credits rolled and hopefully that gives some reassurance. They struck a very deft balance.

Saw it last night, it was tonally wonderful and a nice change from the usually dreary slant (which I still love) of hard (but not quite as hard in this case) scifi. Great comedy, feelgood in the right amounts, not too saccharin, great tension and spectacle, just ticked every box I wanted it to.
