The land we live on does more than feed us; it helps in cooling our planet by absorbing harmful emissions.
Human activities are upsetting this balance, but together, governments and corporations can change the story.

Wow
Seeing lots of articles about what the polls are saying, not much about what the parties are or are not doing in the various constituencies. Predictions of gains where the parties have next to no activity and poor candidates. If true, it says a lot about the sorry state of democracy here.
4/ We wouldn't ignore a 50% chance of a financial system collapsing without preparation.
This deserves the same seriousness. The science has moved, now policy, finance, and public awareness need to catch up!
If you want to read more about the science of the #AMOC I recommend this recent review:
That's the world [even more] on fire if these climate change deniers get a whiff of power.

Sunshine in a vase 😍
Surely the structures must impact bat foraging. Many alternatives are better than industrial agriculture but the point is we should have sustainable farming and nature restoration everywhere so the choice isn't between arable desert and solar panels. Put them on the rooves.
Of course the best thing for everyone's wallets and the future of Humankind would be if people would drastically reduce, or better still, stop flying. www.nebriefing.org
A call for compassion and dignity. How beautiful to hear this instead of the usual hate.
Yes!!! We need this kind of action for nature everywhere. A rare moment of feeling proud to be human 💚
All extraordinary. Is it terribly lacking gravitas to ask if Rory and Alastair share a decorator?!
Are you taking part in the #dayofaction? Don't forget to take photos of your event and share them here: vote-for-nature.org/gallery
Photo of a bat on a tree with text 5 asks 1. Keep legal protection for all bat species and improve its implementation 2. Make all new development species-friendly 3. Deploy climate change mitigation in harmony with nature 4. Support long-term nature-friendly farming through agricultural schemes 5. Improve wildlife crime recording, investigation and prosecution
Our bat manifesto is now available in Welsh and Gaelic too. Freely available to download and share, use it to raise awareness and start conversations with politicians of all colours. Our vision is of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together www.bats.org.uk/news/2026/04...
A politician who does what he pledges and goes to bat for ordinary people. What a great guy ❤️ This should be the norm not the exception. Respect to NY for electing him too.
Rehabilitation of the Dandelion!
No other plant in the Netherlands attracts as many bee species: 107. In early spring, when nothing else is blooming, it is simply there. Meadow bird chicks that have just hatched depend on the insects that are drawn to dandelions. No dandelion, no insect, no chick.
Some very happy news 💚
This week along our lane in Montgomeryshire
There are 1,500 scientifically described species of bat in the world, each plays a unique role in the ecosystems where they are found.
In the UK we have 18 resident species all of which eat insects. Four of the British mammals at highest risk of extinction are bats. www.bats.org.uk/about-bats/w...

Screenshot of POLITICO London Playbook email, showing Palantir sponsorship
Oh, FGS -
@politico.com is taking sponsorship money from Palantir - running their ads through news updates.
That's absolutely the *last* thing we need in our politics, Palantir going straight for the political-media environment at a time when we need massive scrutiny of their contracts in the UK.
Wait till she hears about the time wasted arresting 500 peaceful protesters over the weekend.

Hear, hear.
"They use immigration as an excuse to do nothing about the climate crisis
"They use their position of power to hide the fact that we have to end fossil fuel consumption and they continue to drill, drill, drill"
Take note #Senedd26 voters. #ThereIsNoPlanetB

Curlews expected to be extinct as breeding birds here in Wales by 2033 😓 If you have the chance to help turn this around, grab it!
For a moment I thought that sentence was going to end with 'for tackling the climate and nature emergency'. Foolish.
