Unfortunately despite the above photogenic imagery, the reality is Ichi was baffled by the mushrooms at best and at worst tired of her otherwise great walk being ruined by tromping back and forth over the same boring undergrowth

I’ve entered some kind of major writing dormancy period 🥲 But this weekend we went foraging & found 7lbs+ (!) of chanterelles and shrimp and lobster mushrooms. Auspicious 🍁

My most recent ice cream, made out of a lightly cocoa-y tea I’m obsessed with rn (tongmu jin jun mei). It was good but it was my first black tea aisu & I don’t think I got the milk hot enough to properly steep it this time 💧

Needed this story this morning which made me think more abt how in a world corrupted down to the guts by greed, it’s community that’s the safety net 😭✨

I think part of our work as horror writers in 2024 is to help people unlock the parts of themselves that can face terror and adversity without losing their humanity & goodness.

Health Update: the heart tests showed I have an issue. To nail down the diagnosis I have to do several blood tests & a sleep study. Newest experiment: vanilla wasabi ice cream 🌱 Confession: I kept tasting & immediately adding more & more wasabi powder, distraught there was no wasabi taste AT ALL 😭 I used up almost my whole 40g bag so I went to order more and there. On the product page. “Mix powder with water—and wait 10 minutes”

Writing this week: I’m ~10 days out from a deadline for revising space haranista story, which I’ve been working on for almost two years but which is so old & tightly Tightly knotted I feel afraid to unravel it even to try & straighten it out @__@ wml 😭💪🍀
