Yeah, like a proper grown up crime thriller movie. Been a while since "the movies" offered those.

Same, went into it totally blind. Didn't see any marketing anywhere.

Wow, Crime 101 was a great movie! One like they used to make, which is obviously why it bombed. No horror or super heroes.

The Ego – Sektori (2025, PC/PS5/XBS)

Yeah, it would likely be a little cheaper I think. And Switch 2, let's see what the future holds... 🙂

My fear is mostly that most players would be disappointed because it's such a difficult game and the touch screen adds another layer of difficulty on top... but maybe you're right.

Nice! I'm mostly hesitant because it's already a difficult game, so the touch controls would be even another layer on top. Optimally I'd make gameplay changes too, but I would rather want to avoid that to keep the versions in sync.

iPad would be likely supported yes if I pursue this. (Though the 4:3 aspect ratio is annoying and a bit of extra work. 🙂)

Yeah, not optimal for this. My older twinstick, Trigoarium, is on iOS and works ok with touch controls, but this is so much more involved and difficult than I'm hesitant if I should pursue this or not...

1 week ago 1 1 0 0

Yes, it would work with a controller too (but that's such a niche of a niche that I don't know how many players there are for that).

Would anyone be interested in this? (iPhone, no Android) Did a quick feasibility test. Might be doable, but touch screen controls are touch screen controls...

The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA

Whoa 🤯

The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...

Mark Zuckerberg [standing in his normal posh living room, talking to camera]:
So today I want to show you our plans...

*PING* - a screen appears in the air above Zuckerberg’s wrist

Mark Zuckerberg:
...for the Metaverse.

Mark Zuckerberg [to his wrist-screen]:
Hey Nick

Nick Clegg [appearing on screen]:
Hey Mark

Nick Clegg:
You coming to the meeting?

Mark Zuckerberg:
You bet!

[The room transforms into digital lines]

[Zuckerberg is now transported to a different place with Nick Clegg by his side. They are in the US CAPITOL during the January insurrection, anarchy unfolding all around them].

Mark Zuckerberg:
Wow! Where are we, Nick?

Nick Clegg:
I think we’re in
an insurrection!

Nick Clegg:
I thought I’d clicked ‘join meeting’ but I must have inadvertantly joined one of the many far right groups being promoted by our algorithm.

Mark Zuckerberg:
I don’t like it Nick! What should we do?

Nick Clegg:
Well…

Nick Clegg:
We could admit our tech libertarian ideals are flawed, change the algorithm which makes us billions, and build a bold new virtual world which brings humanity together rather than tearing it apart and killing democracy.

Or…

Nick Clegg:
We could change
our avatars!

[They are both now changed into wacky avatars]

Mark Zuckerberg:
I’M A MOUSE

I think one of the things about bluesky is that for a lot of its users, it represents a kind of retirement from social media. Like I’m tired and I want to get out of the game

Title: Hunting for Easter eggs with Werner Herzog

Panel one: Werner goes out looking for eggs saying “I despise this idiotic sanitized ritual, and yet I am unwilling to return home eggless”

Panel two: Werner stands before an egg on the ground “The joy of discovery rings hollow against the monumental indifference of the universe”

Panel three: Werner carries an egg “what, other than regret, can hatch from this empty chocolate vessel”

That's home. That's us.

That's home. That's us.

This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.

Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

I’ve spent so much time dealing with boring stuff lately that I think I’ve become a publisher by mistake.

Absolutely essential long read here from @dominguezf.bsky.social about the relationship between gambling and videogames — not just gacha and loot boxes, but engagement tactics, addiction by design, “the machine zone,” and of course, roguelikes that leverage the lure of traditional gambling games.

It's all just so profoundly uninteresting.

It's interesting that while the loudest public opinion and my feeds here are all basically anti gen-AI. But when I listen to the more private gamedev discussions lately, they are like 2/3 pro AI. It's all about the hustle, and zero about the art. I guess I need more interesting circles.
