I’m only quoting your figure.

The govt plan on 1.5m homes. A simple equation gives you 90k homes if 94% of new homes won’t be on flood plains. Or are you disputing your previous post?

Do you also understand that putting in flood defences for these newly built homes may push the pressure of the flood further down to an area without flood defences?

Damaging homes or businesses that haven’t had to deal with flooding before?

Labour are making these decisions to do this.

90k homes will have to have more money spent on them because they’re being located directly in an area of high flood risk.

That’s 90k families hoping this is done right when they wouldn’t have to do that if the homes weren’t built there.

Do you understand that’s money being wasted?

Conservative MP Mel Stride claims PIP benefit is thousands of pounds per month.

No it is an absolute maximum of £720 a month, and most people only get £250 or less.

Meanwhile he claims £1,250 a month in rent on his expenses

I like this for many reasons not least because it says

Fix social care!

Seriously. Otherwise council services and the NHS will continue to have problems they cannot easily overcome. Nothing gets fixed until social care gets fixed

Even 6% of homes built on a flood plain is incredibly bad. Whoever buys those properties they will not get insurance & they will find selling their home virtually impossible.

Maintain it’s not clever.

Question for you. Will any of that money allocated for flood defences be used on those homes?

Still Rhod Gilbert 🙃

They’ll have to invest a whole lot more soon when they build new homes on floodplains. They could just build away from them, but they’ve decided that’s not the best way.

Clever that.

Rhod Gilbert, the water feature challenge up the ladder with Alex Horne.

First time I had laughed so hard & uncontrollably for a long time.

Haven’t seen yesterday’s yet, I hope it’s as good.

Just watched @zackpolanski.bsky.social speak without fear on
BBC Question Time.

Stuck to his principles and never shrank from saying what needed to be said.

Zack was himself under extreme pressure and I've never been more proud to be a Green.

Where's my rosette at?

Could there be a case taken to court to make the rivers in our country ‘people’?

I know how that sounds but that’s what they have done in New Zealand to try to reverse the damage done & protect one of them.

Is that a possibility?

It’s not the ones that read it consciously that are the problem.

It’s those that go shopping. Glance at the rags. Ingest the cleverly titled front page & absorb the misinformation.

It’s a subconscious twisting of people’s perspective.

Been saying this awhile as a once amateur/could-have-been-pro paintball player: loose fabric always decelerates paintballs. Think of the throw-an-egg-at-a-bedsheet physics test. Inflatables work even better. If you know you're going to "play paintball," WEAR LOOSE, BAGGY CLOTHES. Or an inflatable🐸😅

Bike thefts at stations 'decriminalised' The British Transport Police will not investigate many categories of bicycle theft, the BBC learns.

New police effort to make themselves utterly irrelevant to modern life.

Thank you @gillmh.bsky.social 💚x

It’s not my first rodeo to be honest. Lost sight in right eye twice so far. Thankfully & I am really thankful, I have sight back in that eye thanks to the surgeries in July.

My left eye has done the same as the right. Two parts have separated obscuring vision.

People able to book NHS Covid jabs despite not being eligible – pharmacy leaders The Covid-19 vaccination campaign began last week.

Covid cases are surging and it’s insane that Labour has cut vaccines to 13 million vulnerable. Absolutely disgraceful that we aren’t rolling out clean air and vaccines to all. How many more will get long covid, remember the good old days of disease prevention.

BBC Laura Kuenssberg Show Accused of Anti-Green Bias After Cancelling Zack Polanski Interview The new Green Party leader was the only major party leader not to have been granted a conference interview on the flagship BBC show

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead.

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

Let's be clear: this is the result of deliberate political choices to make accessing trans healthcare substantially impossible. It's what Streeting and his ilk want.

Zack Polanski’s response to the Manchester terror attack has been a masterclass in mature statesmanship.

Soulful, human, eloquent, empathetic, nuanced, confident and focused on healing.

And bold. It has shone in contrast to so much weaponising or ill thought through commentary.

Thank you Zack. 💪

The government must ensure fair distribution of income 'The average real wage of workers has hardly moved from the 2008 level whilst bosses never had it so good.'

Average real wage of UK workers is stuck the 2008 level.

Some bosses are collecting 1,112 times more than the average employee wage. Millions forced to rely on food banks and charity.

Workers have no say in income distribution. Govts do nothing.

Can't build economy/society on huge inequalities.
