Gosh yeah. It’s something I try to teach my friends is you have to talk about something before it’s debilitating or an exam like that is required. There is so much distrust in doctors which I get it’s hard to unlearn/navigate but 😭
I didn’t know how to navigate gi stuff or address those concerns and I was lucky to have a gcp that guided me through the process. But he laid out all the before steps before colonoscopy.
Yeah as someone who has had a colonoscopy, 100% yeah. Even if you bring up one, usually a good gcp/Gi specialist will test your stool first.
But bringing up the topic in any capacity is good. Posing things as a question is also good. “I have these concerns but I’m not sure a colonoscopy is needed.”
