Methyl jasmonate boosts disease resistance in some broad-leaf trees—but not all! Experiments show it protects Castanea sativa, Quercus ilex, Q. suber, and Ulmus minor, while Q. robur and Fraxinus excelsior see no benefit. Timing and dosage make all the difference!
