AP publishes a good multi-state rundown on pushback all over the country against plans for huge Trump prison camps:

Im pretty sure the only reason i know what is going on in mpls politics is because of Taylor. She’s an extremely important, load bearing, part of our local political journalism.
A box truck full of boxes of food. The boxes are black with yellow lids and stacked on top of each other.
A beautiful rainbow bird drawn by a 6 year old.
Hey! So @elitalksmpls.bsky.social and I need to raise another $2200 to feed 40 families this week. If you donate $50 or more and post or message proof, I will draw a bird for you. If you donate $100 or more, my son Micah will draw a bird for you.

I thought it was yipping dogs or coyotes at first too! I think that you must have heard them!

honestly it sounded so ridiculous that I thought I was being punked
low key today (4/7, just 10 mins after midnight) is my birthday and I am taking these swans as a good omen for the year ahead. ✨️
hbd queen!!!!
America can, should, must, and WILL fall in love with the moon.
heard ridiculous noises and was like WHAT IS THAT. then moments later, night swans in flight! 20-30 of them!
m a j e s t I c !
did a short night walk just now and just saw a massive migration of tundra swans at night. it was amazing!!
They were heading northwest from roseville about 10 minutes ago. You might still be able to catch them
The head of Bush Foundation is going to be on MPR tomorrow morning on Angela Davis’ show at 9 AM. I feel like that’s just information my nonprofit comrades who received no outreach nor funding during the occupation should know.
You should also know the number is 651-227-6000.
there, we can begin to consider the question of how labor, capital, and time are entwined in AI systems. Rather than debating whether humans will be replaced by robots, in this chapter I focus on how the experience of work is shifting in relation to increased surveillance, algorithmic assessment, and the modulation of time. Put another way, instead of asking whether robots will replace humans, I’m interested in how humans are increasingly treated like robots
not to put too fine a point on it, but the fear that people are shaping themselves into forms that are legible to AI systems, thus dehumanizing themselves/others & ceding control, is something that kate crawford identified before the chat open beta debuted (the "labor" chapter in atlas of AI, 2021)
Thousands of Idahoans hold signs for a No Kings protest with downtown Boise in the background.
Power belongs to the people.
📍Boise, Idaho
Silver clicker counter showing 1,673 people counted.
Protesters standing in the center of a downtown square with a Confederate soldier statue in the background.
Sign: "The revolution called. You're embarrassing it." Confederate soldier statue in the background.
Protesters with signs. One reads, "I'M SO SICK OF OLD WHITE MEN DESTROYING A FUTURE THEY WILL 'NEVER HAVE TO FACE"
I counted nearly 1700 protesters in Franklin, TN. Which is, uh, not exactly a hotbed of left-wing progressivism. #NoKings
Protestors lined up along Highway 52 in Preston, Minnesota
Woman in a lawn chair with a sign saying “No Kings in America”
Protestors lined up with “NO KINGS” letter signs
Person holding out a container of No Kings sugar cookies
In my hometown of Preston, Minnesota, population 1,316: 105 protestors and a #NoKings cookies to match.
The great Pacific Northwest nailed the assignment (1/2)
Seattle
It was…. massive. Looking at it front near the stage, the sea of people just kept on going. I was expecting big. I wasn’t expecting that tbh with you
Eagan, MN. One of at least 30 events across the Twin Cities. Not the one with Bernie and all the elected officials. No Bruce Springsteen concert. Conservatively 500 people, likely closer to 1000. Just an hour of people showing up, and thousands of neighbors expressing approval as they drive through.
People are hungry to be organized right now.
I have never before in my life organized protests that worked without turnout work or community meetings that drew hundreds based on a few social media posts but here we are.
If you think No Kings is a pressure release valve, nope. It's a thermometer
I think often of a New York Times photo of a little Iraqi girl tending to her parakeets in a bombed house, probably from 20 years ago now. I will think of this man and his sweet dog often now too. People just want to love what they love, care for their little beings, and instead we do this to them
Portland, Oregon #NoKings
This isn’t the march.
This is people arriving for the march.
Okay, I saw the video of the unveiling but I missed the detail that visitors are invited to be the anchor of the chain 😭
It was a long winter but No Kings Spring has arrived in Chicago. #NoKings
I *really* appreciated that call out
A roped off area of the Boston Common with backpacks and little lid shoes and supplies. A sign reads In memory of 165 Iranian schoolgirls who were killed in a US airstrike.
#NoKingsBoston had a roped off area, in memoriam.
Tens of thousands of people walking the Boston Common, and yet everyone was respecting this space.
#NoKings
So proud of Chicago showing up for No Kings!
We got to take over the road and that was fun
