A tidy home studio workspace with a wooden desk, a large monitor, white bookshelf speakers, a small MIDI keyboard, a microphone, and a black desk lamp. A laptop stands closed at the left edge of the desk, and a cork board with art prints hangs on the wall beside a two-tier wall shelf holding books and storage bins.

A pastel blue townhouse with white-trimmed windows sits behind a painted wooden gate. The gate features a stylized grayscale cityscape mural with scattered red letters spelling out BRISTOL. A leafy tree partially obscures the right side of the building, and a stone wall borders the left. The scene is lit by low, golden-hour sunlight, casting shadows across the facade and quiet street in front.

Japser, a cream Burmese cat with green eyes, sits inside a rectangular wicker basket on a shelf. Behind him is a row of colorful books arranged upright on a white bookshelf. Japser faces the camera with an alert, slightly serious expression, his ears angled outward.
Continuums are a useful model when making decisions in complex circumstances. Plus you get to make funny hand gestures when you explain things. 🫲 🫱

Why the NASA Graphics Standards Manual of 1976 is still relevant today.
The identity manuals and style guides of the late 20th century were a big influence on modern design systems.
NASA’s 1976 Graphics Standards Manual is a great exmple — covering everything from letterheads to spacecraft insignia.
Just for fun, we looked back to see what still holds up today…

A stylized image of a software CD case floating against a bright blue sky with soft clouds. The CD is labeled "ReCycle" with a recycling symbol and waveform graphic above the name. It features a handwritten sticker that says "FREE! VER 2.5". The disc also displays the Reason Studios logo and URL (www.reasonstudios.com). The overall visual has a retro, Windows 95-style window frame with the title "ReCycle" in a monospaced font.
Classic software sampler ReCycle (1994) has been overhauled and is now free. Nice!

A selection of colourful of Figma badges and stickers. The badges are often block colours of shapes like stars, octagons, circles along with some rounded abstract shapes. The stickers have a mouse-style pointer arrows with text labels with words like Genius, Boo, Free, Opinions and Caution.
A pair of Figma-branded sports-style white socks with the word Figma vertically aligned in green text, and bold blue and yellow hoops near the top.
A welcome nudge from @figma.com to raise our swag game. (And thanks for hosting a great product culture event in London last week!)
