okay wait i tensioned my belts and i think she's good??? drove her around 2 miles, didn't overheat, felt normal, she did smoke a little bit but i think it was all the chemicals and weird debris burning off (i'm praying)

the sound kinda sounds like a belt rubbing against the timing cover and lowkey there was a big gash mark in the old timing cover from the belt cutting into it but maybe i'm coping really hard rn (any mechanics in the chat?)

my car is dying and it's badly leaking coolant out the water pump x.x it's located behind the timing belt on my civic so the mechanic quoted me a $1600 timing belt + water pump job... the cost of all the tools including jacks and jackstands and ratchets is less than $500 tho [idk if i can fix this]
