It is including tips, so it is potentially $30 an hour. But definitely not every hour.

I remember someone at church telling me dinosaurs didn’t exist and they were just a lie told by scientists so they could make money and make people not believe in god. Had my dad, a leftist and the pastor at the time, found out about this he would have been pretty pissed off.

I also think it is weird that more wasn’t made about the person who actually died that day.

(A line from my forthcoming book): the most important thing to understand about tech futurism is when Musk, Altman and their peers are wrong about the future of technology, they don’t have to give the money back.

I don’t think the team at Bluesky get how fragile their position is. I doesn’t take much for someone to drop a habit if every time they reach for it it doesn’t work.

I define winning at a TTRPG as at a party several years later overhearing one of you players telling a story about a game you ran.

I think one of the problems about session zero is the name. It does not have to be a whole session. With some groups sometimes you can accomplish everything you need to for a session zero in 5 to 10 minutes.

You ever notice how in the Superman the Movie poster, he's got one fist out, and on Superman II he's got two fists out? Well BUCKLE UP, I gave him three and four fists for Superman III and Superman IV, respectively. Hilarious!

They're cowards for not doing this.

Exactly as the post said, by Mike's photos of beavers on Instagram.

nice argument, unfortunately I have already depicted myself as a beautiful unbothered beaver and you as an impotently hissing goose

Have you ever played a boardgame and wished you could take things in an entirely different direction? Like if you were playing Monopoly and wanted to throw the thimble off a hotel roof then go rob the bank and then have to deal with the consequences of those actions. That but with dragons.

But if that is true then how are we going to ask the LLM to make LLMs profitable?

“All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need... fantasies to make life bearable."

REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE.

"Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—"

YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.

"So we can believe the big ones?"

YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.

"They're not the same at all!"

YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.

"Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"

MY POINT EXACTLY.”

Part of it is am am going to use some of the guts of my old game to build something else eventually. But there are a few ideas that I am not going to carry over and those are some of my favorite ideas. Like that there are mechanics that mean you can not fully trust your party.

I've said it before but I'll keep saying it, people like @ironpineapple.bsky.social and @alphabetagamer.bsky.social are heroes for making the effort to promote so many games.

Your boyfriend is so powerful they had to change the rules of a subreddit to contain his influence.

If you change one word in the above post it is admittedly a lot cooler

OK, real talk. I made a legitimately pretty damn good TTRPG for a Fishblade game for a jam. Do I take the time and effort to rerelease the game and call it "Troubled Waters" now that I have a bit of free time or move on to the next project? #TTRPG

My friends and I had gone to a lake house for a weekend. D20 modern game set in space, everyone had just played Mass Effect 1 so I made a explore a derelict spaceship game, I had 3 hours to prep.

I am really glad the accounts that would just repost memes form the DNDMemes sub just never caught on on Bluesky like they did on Twitter. It lead to a lot of reddit ttrpg discourse beading over.

It is ironic that the day that a lot of the TTRPG community wants to come on and bitch about how much reddit sucks Bluesky becomes basically unusable

Minor updates to Rule 7 regarding self-promotion
The r/rpg mods have made a few minor changes to Rule 7 to tighten up some loopholes and clarify some questions that we get asked regularly in modmail.
These changes should result in absolutely zero impact to our regular users.
The changes simply document common things that we are seeing in the queues and modmail and will allow us to moderate more effectively without having to explain the same things over and over in modmail.
We have not changed the definition of an active user, or what is needed to post promotion.
There are some minor grammar changes for clarity, and a few sentences were rearranged.
The following are the non-trivial changes that were made:
OLD:
Affiliate links must be clearly disclosed or they will be removed
NEW:
Affiliate links and other profit-sharing schemes are not allowed.
ADDED TO THE "WHAT IS SELF PROMOTION" LIST:
Discussing "a game you are working on", with obvious intent to fish for questions or requests for details and links.
Asking for features to include or feedback on a game, site, app, or tool that you are building

And the most substantial change:

OLD:

"If you are using a newly created account and start immediately posting to other peoples' work, then you may be seen as a self-promoter in disguise."

NEW:

"If you are using a newly created or inactive account and start immediately posting promotion of other peoples' work, then you will be considered a self-promoter in disguise."

This change is being made because we regularly get into modmail discussions with brand new or inactive accounts that promote a product to multiple subs, but claim "I'm not affiliated" when there is clearly promotion being made. We see enough obvious "stealth promo" that we are now assuming that promo from non-active accounts is self-promo. This doesn't change how we've been moderating these posts (we've been using this assumption for a while now), merely documenting the change.

Thank you.

They should make an rpg subreddit that doesn't hate the people making them lol
