some of the reviews complaining abt the romance being lacking…..baby this is a book abt examining colonialism and its effects ofc the relationship between the colonized woman and the colonizer isn’t great and wonderful and sweet

i love talking abt sapphic books but i do think we need to be mindful of the fact that not all books are romance books and therefore just bc a book contains a sapphic couple, that doesn’t mean u will automatically like the book
