Absolutely incredible.

NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.

Watch with sound on.

I ask myself what's worse: writing a terrible book I can fix later or never writing another book again.

I think genuinely we are overdue for more stabs at larger, equitable, artist-run organizations. Let the leeches starve

It's official. The Democratic Party is divided on continued military support for Israel, and leaning in the direction of withdrawing support. If you care about this issue, you should call your senator and praise or complain, depending.

India hits 150 GW solar milestone The country added around 44.6 GW of new PV capacity in fiscal year 2026, according to new figures released by JMK Research.

With 150GW solar, India achieved its target of having 50% of its total installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources in June 2025, reaching this milestone 5 years ahead of its original 2030 deadline set under the Paris Agreement www.pv-magazine.com/2026/04/10/i...

A couple years ago my partner's landlord tried to raise her rent by 50%. She was already paying $1600 for a 1-bedroom and they wanted $800 more PER MONTH. I cannot fathom how anyone thinks wages could keep pace with that kind of greed

Two hamster looking creatures with crooked unmatched eyes, a human mouth, and no nose both wearing top hats. They are on a background that is half the moon and half the picture of a park bench. The one in the back is playing a guitar and the one in the front has a speech bubble that says “we like the mooooon!”

Been adding some gold highlights to my HERALD piece. Silver riso prints on black card, with silver (& now gold) hand drawn stars & shimmer in coupy pencil on top. Subtle but I really like it!

(normal version in studio shop, if you want a gold bits version, write GOLD in the checkout comments)

Jirel of Joiry: "The Black God's Kiss" Jirel of Joiry , one of the most stunningly original sword & sorcery characters I've ever read, seems to have come about by a series of accidents. Accident the first: author Catherine Lucille Moore,.....

Jirel of Joiry is one of the coolest, most compelling sword & sorcery characters out there. With Molly Tanzer's new stuff coming out, I'm blogging my way through the Jirel stories.

So many of the quirks of how romance, among other things, is marketed boil down to "if you say the word 'sex', a lot of people will get weird about it even if they really want to read about sex"

Imagine if we categorized books by degrees of violent content but could only describe it via a cute euphemistic spice scale

1 week ago 29 8 5 4

As a reader I definitely prefer more straightforward language

1 week ago 3 0 1 0

Even when I wrote romance I didn't find spice levels to be a very useful categorization, and definitely not outside of romance/erotica. Tbh, I feel like it's entered the general lexicon because people are still really uncomfortable using direct, plain language around sex
