Shreveport. What words are there for something like this. I am trying to tally the number of Black women and children shot at or killed in the last week because a man couldn’t handle that his intimate access to the woman was being ended. It’s too many.

& it's been that way:
ā€œDuring the Vietnam War... every respectable artist in this country was against the war. It was like a laser beam. We were all aimed in the same direction. The power of this weapon turns out to be that of a custard pie dropped from a stepladder six feet high.ā€

Republican Mutiny Sinks Trump's Push to Extend Warrantless Surveillance A post-midnight revolt in the House sank the White House's efforts to extend Section 702—a spy program the FBI has used to look into members of Congress, protesters, and political donors.

NEW: 20 Republican lawmakers revolted last night over the White House's push to extend Section 702 surveillance powers without meaningful reforms to the warrant requirements for querying Americans' communications. @dell.bsky.social reports: www.wired.com/story/republ...

so, what should be the liberal attitude towards trump & the leaders of the movement be?

"society, as the protector of all its members, must retaliate on him; must inflict pain on him for the express purpose of punishment, and must take care that it be sufficiently severe"

Asked Sen. Booker how he’ll vote on Sanders’ resolutions to block 1000 pound bombs & bulldozers to Israel.

Said he was prepping for a hearing & we’ll see how he votes.

Along with demolishing Palestinian homes, Israel used a bulldozer to kill 23-year-old American Rachel Corrie.

It's the Prices, Stupid Consumer sentiment is at an all-time low because prices are at an all-time high. Consumer sentiment isn't broken, popular government data is just incomplete

The index of consumer sentiment isn't broken; models that try to predict it just don't have the right input variables. I fix that and find that, yes, high nominal price levels explain why the vibes are so off. It's the prices, stupid

🧵As we talk about sexual assault by the powerful (Swalwell, Gonzales), it's worth noting that sexual assault, of one kind or another, is a norm. Be horrified, but for the love of God, stop being surprised.

Do priests do it? Yes. Rabbis? āœ… Police? āœ… Teachers? āœ… Fathers? āœ… Artists, authors, actors?āœ…

I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

Right now, all decisions about the moon šŸŒ” are being made by a small number of people from just a few countries, almost none of them democratically or semi-democratically selected

Whatever they do today will reverberate for generations.

So maybe a name isn’t a big deal. But what it signifies is. 🧪

The Artemis II flyby was not just a super cool jaunt around the moon! It was a test flight that’s part of a larger, extremely nationalist, plan to militarize and colonize the moon for AMERICAN interests
