Oh, they mentioned a character I have no idea who is. Is this that relevant to know who they are? The answer would always be no, so who cares? All the characters that matters receive a brief introduction in that anime. All past info/context that is really important receives a flashback moment

I guess that it was easier for me to get into kinniku by the netflix anime alone, without any prior knowledge because when I watched it, I had the mindset of focusing on the plot of that specific arc alone and not sweating about irrelevant past information I didn't know about.
