Wynni got BIG MAD at me just now for gesturing with the wooden spoon I was using to cook with. The green stuff is pesto.

Until I realized that I got married on 10/03. Still probably just a coincidence, but it’s fun to think about. 2/2

I feel like there’s a specific time that people happen to glance at the clock and that time is different for different people. I always happen to catch the time at 10:03. It’s been that way forever. How about you? Do you attribute any meaning to these little moments of happenstance? I never did 1/2

I wrote another two and a half pages for my novel-in-progress, which I may or may not use, but I feel wonderful about it. It’s something, it’s progress.

Writers!

How do you pick titles for your works? Why is it excruciatingly hard??

I’m still here. Still working.

This is a painting I did of my cat Wynni in the can. It’s not perfect, nor is it the perfect subject, but it cracked through the horrendous artist’s block I’ve been dealing with. Gotta oil those pistons somehow.

It’s 11 degrees out and I popped outside to take out the trash/recycling in athletic shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops.

Am I acclimated to MN yet??

Commissions are open!

Have you seen art that you liked, but had a different specific idea in mind? Need character art for those OCs you’ve been working on? Or maybe a pet portrait?

You’re in luck! I’m happy to work with you to realize your idea. DM me for rates, or even just to spitball ideas!

How I arrived on Bluesky

I say all this to try to give people outside my community a rough sense of where I and quite a few others are. For the life of me, I will never understand why some people make it their whole agenda to make another person’s life more difficult. (end)

to do so. My documents all have “F” on them and I don’t think I can have that changed now, not under this administration. Which is a problem, because eventually, I *will* look different enough that those “F”s will start to raise eyebrows.

It sucks. (7/?)

At 5’1” with a curvy frame, I don’t pass. Not for lack of trying. I’ve had my body chemically and surgically modified to get to a place where I’m more comfortable, but it’s still not enough, because I get ma’am’d all day long. I’ve given up on correcting people because I no longer feel safe (6/?)

how incredibly difficult this process is for full-grown adults, much less minors who are fully under the legal purview of their guardians, the damage is done. These people believe these things, because it’s been beaten into public discourse, regardless of truth. (5/?)

scare tactic propaganda about men invading women’s restrooms and cheating at sports.

We’re behind the 8 ball from the start.

I’ve had conversations with random cis people who genuinely believe that little kids are having surgical procedures done on a whim. And even though I’ve explained (4/?)

help, or even find meaningful community. On the other hand, every meemaw and pop pop in the country seeing the “trans debate” on cable news is deeply damaging because everything is rigged against us. Instead of meeting a trans person irl and maybe forming their own opinion, they’re spoon-fed (3/?)

opportunities for bad actors to other and politicize us.

There is a certain safety in staying out of the public eye. Invisibility is also isolating and dangerous in a different sort of way. When most are unaware of you, it’s often difficult to get proper care, or be listened to when you need (2/?)

Visibility is a double-edged sword.

When Laverne Cox was featured on the cover of Time 11 years ago, I was genuinely excited and happy for her and the broader trans community. I was also a little concerned, because, inevitably, more eyes on us comes with greater scrutiny and more (1/?)
