i do want to point out that the part about pusha t is set in 2007, which makes a little more sense? the timeline's still pretty weird though

golden's specifically the kind of kpop modeled after club boom era dancepop and there were a bunch of triplet hits from around that time (right round, cooler than me, womanizer) so maybe that's why? lots of great triplet dance songs in general (latch, tainted love, run away with me) so
there were definitely a lot this year (golden, ordinary, daisies, man i need + lose control, die with a smile and beautiful things lasting for an eternity). maybe it's cause triplet rhythms harken back to that more retro slow dance-y sound? wouldn't explain all of those tho. 12/8 is goated i get it
guy doesn't seem to be irredeemably bad or anything he's just. moronic? i guess that's the word for it. deeeefinitely needs a pr team
sombr responds with his own tiktok that i frankly find too obnoxious to try and summarize myself. he doesn't address the actually concerning part of the response at all
someone went to one of his shows and called him out for it on tiktok pointing out that his fanbase is mostly very young teen girls and he shouldn't be saying stuff like this with that audience
sombr made a handful of inappropriate jokes at a concert (telling his fans to bark for him, calling himself daddy etc)
lots of great picks but i can't believe someone who has access to that many resources and written good music before could release Actually Romantic. like SOMEONE had to have said something
i don't think this is him selling out per se but i do think it's a weird failed experiment with one very obvious hit and if the next album isn't really good i could see it become the trainwreckord
social media post from María Corina Machado (@MariaCorinaYA) hours after her Nobel Peace Prize win: "This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom. We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy. I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!"
We will need Nuremberg-like trials
unlike the guy who wrote it
well personally i think we need to be more understanding of people who just woke up from a 41+ year long coma
you cannot lose elections to people that suggest lee greenwood for the super bowl halftime show over bad bunny
If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you.
They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.
maybe it's cause i'm a younger music fan but this is how i learn people hate this song apparently. no idea why
you can tell you're on the wrong side of youtube recommendations when you start getting doug walker revisionism
Ultimately labels are just labels, man, and what really matters is “Do I listen to better music than Rick Beato and am I less of a dickhead?”
screenshot of dream pop singer Molina's top songs on Spotify, highlighting a major gap between the amount of streams on the single "Hey Kids" (123 million) and everything else (below 1 million)
molina's pretty close. had one tiktok hit and absolutely nothing else. what a shame she's got good stuff
@ownsongkaraoke.bsky.social i had to download a bunch of music videos for a personal project and noticed a recent addition to the canon youtu.be/jk4ZSX7hZW4
it's not super prevalent but it's there
A Nazi owns Twitter, right wing billionaires own the Wall Street Journal and the LA Times, and CBS is run by a right wing nepo baby who just fired one of the network’s biggest stars for criticizing Donald Trump. Here’s why America has a left-wing media bias problem.
it’s great! appreciate its existence during trying times
Big Time Rush
between this and sapphire i’m not sure why he decided to release the blandest dancepop of seven years ago as singles now
It's one of those things like "the velvet underground only sold 6,000 records but everyone who bought it started their own band" but for everyone who answered "yes" to this being given a national newspaper column
Alex says "why can't I allow myself to take my severe mental problems seriously?" She holds her head and and laments "I am so suicidally depressed." She then puts on Groucho glasses, smokes a cigar and jocularly quips "I am so suicidally depressed."
they don't but they really should
