Two of Australia's greatest supporters of the fossil fuel industry, on #EarthDay. Even the best satirical writers would struggle to conjure this.

I was moved to dig deep by the words & testimonials from folks I deeply respect & admire, like you, @ketanjoshi.co, @jessharwoodart.bsky.social & more

We can't let bastards steal the future. We can't the good ship AYCC go down‼️

‘The Tasmanian government has allowed these industrial fish farms to pollute & contaminate our public waters as much as they desire,"…

"The dumping of these antibiotics has closed fisheries, discouraged people from swimming or fishing, and spread up to 10 kilometres from the fish farms."’

Podcasting is taking off, with an annual growth rate of 27%.

But podcasters are telling us they can't easily stop fossil fuel ads from appearing in their programmatic advertising.

So we’ve built this guide!

The Government has had the national anti-racism framework for nearly 18 months and still hasn't responded.

We joined ANIC, FECCA, @edhusicmp.bsky.social and AFIC in @australia.theguardian.com to once again call for its immediate adoption and implementation: www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Chumps A list of fossil fuel sponsorships in Australia.

In the absence of a warm fuzzy Earth Day post you can look at how University of Queensland has embraced fossil fuel funding of research & education. These relationships help polluters operate for longer and delay the transition to renewables

Happy Earth Day!

It's Earth Day and my publisher (University of Queensland Press) were going to do a post about my book, Music Camp, which has climate change themes (anti-fossil fuel sponsorship)

Due to University of Queensland cravenly cancelling someone else's book they are now in a pickle and didn't post it

you're a legend, Penny! 🙌 ✊

It's wrong that young people have to fight govts & corps for fossil fuel phaseout & a chance to have a liveable climate

& unforgivable to let the world's "longest standing active, youth-run climate organisation" sink

Don't let this happen‼️

It gets worse. Pocock continues to smash Wake on Shell’s “tricky accounting”, who provides how much Shell invests, but refuses to provide revenue.
“You can’t even tell me that part of the equation, which I find very odd. You can tell me all your expenses, but not your revenue”💥

David Pocock beside himself as Shell’s Cecile Wake insists she doesn’t know Shell’s revenue, or how much gas they export, while she fronts an inquiry on Gas Exports.
Sarah Hanson-Young: “What did you think we were going to be asking you about today?” 🔥🙄 #auspol

University of Queensland directs UQP to cancel & pulp an Aboriginal writer's environmental-focused book for children. Jazz Money has done nothing wrong and doesn't deserve to be treated this way. Her book is important for young readers. Shameful

And young people have to fight @albomp.bsky.social's majority Labor govt (94 seats!) for fossil fuel phaseout & a chance to have a liveable climate 🙃

Naming Names: Attorney General Bonta Secures Public Access to Evidence in Amazon Price Fixing Case “I’m making efforts to push the market back to a retail that will give you [Amazon] solid headroom…” “I am very determined to help you hunt the disrupters in the market.” “If the problematic retail…

7. The email evidence is extensive, but it's almost certainly the tip of a much bigger price fixing operation. That's because Amazon trained employees to do this over the phone or to use "legally approved talking points."

6. It just keeps going and going... here's a fertilizer maker acting as go-between so Home Depot and Amazon could match each other in raising prices.

2. Here's Levi's serving as go-between so Walmart and Amazon could cooperate to raise prices on khakis. "In response, Amazon acknowledged that Walmart raised its price and confirmed it had matched that higher price: 'the updated pricing of $29.99 is now showing up on [Amazon].'"

1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public yesterday by California AG @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.

Taking from disabled people to give to people in aged care is a cynical political exercise from Labor.

Pitting people who genuinely need care against each other while leaving $17 billion in the pockets of gas corporations they’re too cowardly to tax is shameful.

One Nation candidates should do some due diligence before they sign up (but they're probably not the kind of people who do due diligence to assist decision-making)

And it has some nasty consequences!
