I’ve been learning Mandarin to help me structure the Sienese language, & because it’s the second most spoken language in the world (my neighborhood is very Chinese).

Gotta say, I love the Hanzi model for its visual formulas and esoteric coding. It makes me feel like I’m in on a special secret.

It’s been months since I’ve drawn anything 🫠, but I found these old Mortifan concepts on my IPad.

I love this pigeon-loving, ghost-like, mortician. He’s more of a symbolic, character in Malignant Remedy, and tends to appear during the most dire moments.

I’m taking a break from social media to write the scripts for Malignant Remedy and GrímR of Nowither. I’m about halfway into one, and roughly a quarter into the other. They’re definitely going to require loads of editing, but I will be back when I get closer to the drawing stage! 🫡✌️🪂

Ohh, that’s Dietre (a.k.a. Deets)! She’s another morgai (reaper) like GrimR, only her bird is the white vulture. She and GrimR are siblings by bond, but their dynamic is dysfunctional. Her first concept was a man many years ago, so I’ve only drawn this redesign around three times so far 😅💚

I - uh - forgot how to draw. So - uh - have some half-assed Sverenne scribbles while I try to recollect the basics. 🥲

My friend, Ruth, and I were choreographing a possible fight scene between Urokmura and a mist dragon. I just like the idea of a dragon vaporizing and reforming at will. But imagine having to slay this colossal, serpentine beast in ghostly hummocks of fog.

Urokmura and his somewhat scary mother, the Queen Mother of the Sienese dragons. The reason she looks younger than him is because she has more emotional control than he does. It’s a part of mastering dragon magic.
