Lots to learn about how this would all work, whether it will work, etc, but this strikes me as a potentially a huge deal for the state’s future. A real legacy moment for Polis (and I’m dying to know who else made this happen).

Well this would‘ve been a pretty big day on the ol’ beat www.cpr.org/2026/04/08/t...

Yeah, it’s based on msrp. I should’ve asked for the exact trim level and looked it up, and will next time. I was on hour three of standing in dmv parking lots by then

If he had a simpler answer to “what did this vehicle cost?” I definitely would’ve

It was a little messy because he had a trade in so paid less than msrp, which depending on trim level is ~$40k-$80k. His was somewhere in the middle.

I really tried to show the range of what people pay and had lots of other context too!

Does the Twin Cities need the 'opt-out' transit agencies anymore? - MinnPost The Met Council will decide how much regional sales tax money to give to opt-out providers that actually may be hurting regional transit efforts.

Also h/t to @blindeke.bsky.social and his invaluable piece last year on the history of the Twin Cities' orphaned suburban transit agencies www.minnpost.com/cityscape/20...

Transit plan could upend Twin Cities’ decades-old suburban system A bipartisan proposal at the Minnesota Capitol would consolidate a handful of suburban transit agencies that have offered services independent of Metro Transit.

It took nearly a year, but I was able to get "Regional Transportation District" into a @startribune.com story www.startribune.com/transit-plan...

I was at the Capitol the day of the Lebsock expulsion vote, and when the vote finally came everyone was focused on him.

I turned my camera to her.

Winter also wrote or co-wrote just about every significant transpo bill over the last decade. Funding, speed cameras, etc. She was a giant in that world.

What a terrible thing. Rest in peace, Senator.

It was not an easy one to make! I’ve seen Neko 3-4 times over the years and had never seen Paul though, so that was a big factor.

Had tickets to Neko Case at First Ave and sold ‘em so I could see Sir Paul and I’ve gotta say the man delivered.

Reading up on MN transpo stuff and came across this series from editorial writer Steve Berg the Strib ran back in 2002. Lots of talk of induced demand, freeway blight, etc

Hiya David - That's a good thought, though in my defense I did reach out to every DSA-endorsed legislator, including Sen. McEwen, and either didn't hear back or got a no comment.
