Absolutely this. BAFTA is more concerned with their image than actually being a good organization, which is probably why they keep pointing the finger at individuals and their audience rather than taking any responsibility themselves.

I'm just so fatigued by censorship, especially from organizations that clearly do not actually care, they're just constantly putting on airs for advertisers and their money. 🥴

As far as I'm aware, there was a time delay so they could have censored it and they didn't from my understanding.
Also he has tourette syndrome & organizers knew about it. Being understanding of someone's situation is more important than saying PC words imo.
I'm sick of censorship and I'm sick of uplifting organizations that take part in it.
Fuck BAFTA and fuck anyone that continues to stand by it, idgaf. I couldn't possibly respect this establishment or the people surrounding it any less at this point.
Certainly not a child - obviously no child is watching nor catered to at this show.
So we're concerned a full grown adult will see THAT trailer and get so unbelievably overwhelmed by emotions that they may have a sort of mental break.
That trailer. An adult.

And let's talk about that censorship.
Who are these awards shows for? Specifically, BAFTA is a big fancy Oscars wannabe, complete with massive money, rich actors, and red carpet-isms.
Who do they think is watching to find this trailer, The Quiet Things, so horribly "triggering"?
The game is described as an autobiographical narrative adventure inspired by the developer's own diaries, and its Steam store warns of themes of self-harm, suicide, sexual assault/non-consensual sex, and childhood abuse. "For the last two weeks, I’d been working hard to cut this trailer together while already badly burned out, because I believed this was the biggest opportunity we were ever likely to get," Jones explained. "I was so hopeful that this tiny indie game might actually be seen by a huge audience. Finally, a break." Jones was told the trailer couldn't be shown as there wasn't enough time to put the appropriate trigger warnings in place, and said her suggestions to make "immediate further changes" were ignored.
Responding to press requests for comment, BAFTA said: "We made a compliance decision not to show a trailer of an unreleased game that contains themes that may be a trigger for some, in consideration of our guests as we were not in a position to sufficiently warn them. "We fully support games that engage with difficult subjects, and we made the decision in relation to our event only and with the wellbeing of all guests as our priority."
BAFTA knew what the game entailed, the Steam storepage clearly warns of specific themes and the developer worked closely with BAFTA officials to cut the trailer together to fit their baby-ass standards.
She even offered to recut the trailer. No response.
This is censorship through and through.
Obviously censorship like this is horseshit.
The developer already edited a trailer together for BAFTA compliance and it was approved.
Then they censor the game the night before the awards show and ignore the developer's requests to edit it further.

BAFTA just censored a game trailer they were supposed to run during the night of their gaming awards show.
The trailer is one of the most inoffensive trailers I've ever seen, with implied struggles but nothing shown, yet it was censored for "triggering themes".
