A company brings in small items, from 25¢ to probably $10. Kids bring home a little brochure and a wish list. They sit down with an adult and come up with the list for their family, based on budget. Then parent volunteers help them shop and even ‘wrap’ the gifts. We’d been doing it since before me.

We were lucky that way. I worked at that school for 20 years as the building secretary, and saw how many kids it benefited. They did the same thing for our Santa Shop, so the kids could buy little gifts for their families.

Our PTO used to set aside funds from fundraiser to give kids a gift certificate to go to the book fair, based on teacher’s knowledge of the family😍

Happy 102nd birthday to my daddy in the great beyond! I miss him every day. This Friday, he will have been gone 14 years. He taught me so much and I was so blessed to be Forever Daddy’s Girl xoxo
