The harpsichord is broken and there is a bad smell in the corner of the concert hall, but I’m not worried. Having played on a fully broken piano in the rain and covered with mud last weekend, I know that we can make music with anything. 😊

I’m heading to @counterflows.bsky.social Glasgow to perform on an installation of Annea Lockwood’s Piano Garden this weekend. Looking forward to exploring the buried piano from all possible angles, solo and with amazing colleagues Including the composer herself!

Total immersion in music from 1729-1744. I feel a Baroque opera coming with a sprinkling of concerti grossi.

Yes, I really did see the aurora borealis over the Baltic Sea!

Sharing a house with two singers means no talking in the morning. We silently do our meditations and wellness routines (yoga, running, sea swimming, gym); work on various projects, and talk about health, longevity and artists that inspire us over herbal tea in the evening. Hilarious and wonderful.

This has gone as viral as anything I've posted on here. I hope we can spread some penguin joy on Tuesday. You don't have to have come any of my events though as I've done 500 and 10 years worth at the Union Chapel, Islington (Sat lunchtime) you'd be surprised that you may have done!

First swim in the Baltic yesterday. Definitely feels a bit colder than the Irish Sea at this time of year.

First time recording a piano in a while – and this one was full of electromagnets! Great fun last week recording audio for @apmcpherson.bsky.social's Magnetic Resonator Piano with @xeniapestova.bsky.social playing, along with some fun other Augmented Instruments Lab creations. Videos coming soon!

Trying to finish a score and it’s difficult. Deadline looming, and yet the procrastination urge is strong. I even cleaned the green stuff off the driveway!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon making video recordings on this beastie at @imperialcollegeldn.bsky.social for @apmcpherson.bsky.social. I also purchased pre-loved silver stilettos of extreme height at a nearby thrift fashion store. A truly perfect day.
