When Trump said the Pope is ‘weak on crime’ it had to be one of two things:

He has absolutely not a clue what a Pope does

Or he’s gotten to the point that he’s just pulling random phrases out of his ass.

I know everyone’s forgotten this — most of all the news media — but the job of journalism isn’t to repeat whatever the President says; the job of journalism is to inform the public about, and help the public make sense of, the day’s events.

Trump (and his cronies) figured out that, as President, you can manipulate the stock market by announcing military attacks and ceasefires. So they just keep doing it, and the market and the media keep falling for it.

Before you commit to a dog name, go outside at 6:30 AM with no bra on and see how it feels begging that name to poo.

The oligarchs believe that U.S. citizens’ tolerance for abuse is infinite.

And our tolerance is apparently large.

But never in world history has it been infinite, and it won’t be this time either.

That’ll be a bad day for the oligarchs.

April 20 - The Bravest of Conductors On this day in Labor History the year was 1853. That was the day that Harriet Tubman led her first trip on the underground railroad, the clandestine network that helped enslaved people escape slavery and move north to freedom. One of the most remembered ‘conductors’ on the railroad, Tubman had herself escaped slavery in eastern Maryland.

Surprisingly, the tariff refunds turned out to be another grift to benefit corporations.

If you go back and watch a movie like All the Presidents's Men, it will really hit you how massively our country has changed in my lifetime. It was unthinkable for any of today's headlines to ever even exist back then.

A lot of you think it's always been this bad, but it hasn't. It really hasn't.

On the chance we get to pick a President again, we might consider a person who has motivations that go beyond bald grift and a bottomless pit of insecurity.

On the right is someone NFL doctors say is 6’3, 230 lbs with 5% body fat

On the left is someone White House doctors say is 6’3, 224 lbs with 4.8% body fat

If the White House is THAT dishonest about something so clear, why should we believe anything they say about anything?

We’ve had Presidents before who wanted to change things, but I don’t know that we’ve ever had a President who wasn’t the least bit curious to find out beforehand why they had been set up to operate as they do.

Hopeless drunks as federal department heads, yay or nay?

It’s plausible Trump is gutting the nation because it rejected him in 2020.

Also plausible he’s gutting the nation because he’s under Putin’s thumb.

Also plausible he’s gutting the nation to hide his grift.

Also plausible he’s gutting the nation because he has no idea what the fuck he’s doing.

The National Science Foundation which funds a quarter of all basic scientific research in the country is being dismantled.

Actually getting rid of him would be a start, but we apparently won’t even do that.

Trump just says shit — no relation to facts on the ground.

No reason to quote him on anything.

You’d think the press and media would have learned that after he said Covid would go disappear ‘in a few days’

But they still operate under the useless notion that ‘if the President says it, it’s news’

A post-NATO alliance is needed, as the US can’t be trusted. Instead of duplicating resources, common equipment like tanks should be used against a shared threat like Russia (which regardless of Ukraine still IS a threat) to avoid unnecessary spending at expense of welfare.

Maybe I’m wrong, I hope I am, but from everything I see not happening, I’m pretty sure the Epstein files won’t save us, the establishment Democrats won’t save us…

What will save us, if we are to be saved, is the rank incompetence of Team Trump. What a puny nation we are that this is our best shot.

Y’know, if we’d chosen differently as a collective, we’d have a sitting Vice-President right now reminding us not to forget the spring maintenance on our lawn mowers, and look twice for motorcycles on the road.

Hundreds of people with real clout are just standing around watching one demented old man tear the nation apart.

My reminder that even tho elected Democrats are 'not in power' they could still

-organize and lead marches and sit-ins

-hold constant rallies across their states

-call for strikes and for boycotts of critical industries

-get arrested at ICE detention camps

Most simply aren't doing these things.
