even just normal-ass cartoons were a rarity for me in Sweden in the early 80s. I remember watching the end of the news eagerly because it had an animated sun smiling at the audience, telling us the time of rise/set that day. I was RABID over anything plastic and colorful.

oh my god, it's so stupid but i have goosebumps. i haven't thought of this thing in at least 30 years and didn't even remember it existed but it's so VIVID now. the sound just amplified the sensation of remembering tenfold
