I am generally a solid believer in the duty of confidentiality—one that should, in my view, also extend to the judges—but the problems with how it is operationalized are equally clear to me in the Canadian context.

I could imagine an argument being made that one may trust in the authority of tradition itself, while being entirely nonplussed whether or not the tradition comes from the Talmud, to be fair.
