a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror
found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
And they're too sweet! If I wanted a sweet potato, I'd eat sweet potatoes!
and while I'm "on a rant" and "keeping it real": red potatoes have the worst texture and flavor of any potato. There, I said it!
At least nowadays, you can read the internet to fill in backstory and don't have to do what I did (collect the Topps cards and ask my friend who'd read her cousin's copies of New Mutants)
unrelated but I've just seen that the Wikipedia page for the Avengers calls Excalibur "The British version of the Avengers" and I'm so angry; this is the closest I've come to making a Wikipedia account: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenger...
Marvel and DC have great potential new audiences in people who see the movies/TV shows and want more, and they make it absolutely miserable to actually read their damn books
So then there's a new spinoff about the mutant retirement community and maybe the comic shop is sold out of it because it was unexpectedly popular! But since the success of a title is basically based on preorders, you might not get past issue four before it's cancelled
and then they reboot the title with a new #1 and you've got to update your subscriptions at the comics shop, oh, did I mention that you have to go to the comics shop? Because they haven't sold comics in supermarkets and bookstores since the early 90s
Longrunning superhero comics are hard to start reading as a new fan, and then when you decide you're just going to jump in and read whatever's current in X-Men, there's like 10 concurrent X-Men related ongoing titles and miniseries and they all cross over and also cross over with Avengers, etc.
Conspiracy guy into American comic books versus suave guy into manga
This is my favorite meme because it be cleaning yall the fuck up
Because of my Walkman and being lazy about changing the tape out when I left for the day, I listened to Faith No More's Angel Dust approximately twelve thousand times in high school, and I am better for it
A blue bird stands on a bare branch with tail fanned out to the side and head twisted around at an awkward angle to poke underneath it.
Blue Jay assembled incorrectly?
Nah, just preening that pretty plumage

happy friday youtu.be/uwjRMLHKGi8?...
men can’t understand what it’s like for women to see story after story after story of women being victims of sexual violence in a culture where it’s routine; what it’s like to live in a world that is fundamentally hostile to our existence. it’s a wonder we leave the fucking house, let alone thrive.
Taking an hourlong shower and praising Poseidon! Many Urkels to you!

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn aerial view landscape. It depicts an apple orchard in bloom in the centre, allotments to the left and sheep in their field at the bottom. Train tracks go past the top of the orchard and allotment.
Sewn train tracks past an apple orchard (to the left).
An angled view of a sewn vegetable allotment surrounded by rough land, trees and with train tracks to the left.
An angled view of embroidered bushes and paths going through them leading to an orchard, allotment and fields.
'A simple (perfect) life' - my spring landscape is finally finished! An apple orchard in bloom, old railway, sheep with their lambs and an allotment being prepared for growing :) Zoom in to see all the other tiny details too... I think this might be my favourite aerial embroidery I've ever done!
my brother is in North Carolina right now and posting about fresh picked strawberries and I feel like a vampire who's just seen someone with a paper cut
Anyway, we have ample research on how living under a state of sustained terror and stress causes life-long health problems as well as intergenerational epigenetic effects. This feels like it's making you sick because it actually is making you sick.
Boston Globe mock front page from April 9, 2016. Date says April 9, 2017, with giant headline “DEPORTATIONS TO BEGIN” and “Markets sink as trade war looms.”
Ten years ago today, in April 2016, the Boston Globe printed a satirical front page imagining a future Trump administration. The page was called "alarmist," "hyperbolic," "dystopian." But we’ve put up with so much since then it now looks like . . . a slow Thursday?

the realest part of The Metamorphosis is how on top of everything he is still expected to show up at the office somehow
Yahoo!'s homepage (1994)
pretty clear bright line today, anyone in power who isn't doing everything they can to remove him from office deserves handcuffs when this is all over. that includes any democrat who votes for anything he wants
