But years later, I have repeatedly heard "you have no idea how badly I needed that then".

But we all know just how badly they needed to hear it.

We are learning from each other all the time. But we rarely ever tell each other that.

It's lonely and discouraging.

I have sent many of these notes. I don't expect anything back. My peers are busy AF and accomplishing amazing things.

agreed - we've put "decentalrize" and "decentralization" in our "Lazy Words and Phrases" list. By themselves the words are unhelpful. Everything has points of centralization. The questions becomes "Is it sufficiently decentralized on a particular axis?" and "Is it inappropriately centralized on ..."
