So maybe Marathon will be performing under of what they estimated (I doubt they were expecting a top hit being a hardcore PvP focused niche genre without PvE), but pretty likely is generating enough to continue forward, something that may be reviewed every half a year or so.

MLB, GT7, Destiny 2 and Helldivers 2 have been top hits, and Marathon doesn't seem to be a disaster or a top hit: we still have too early data but seems that will do ok, pretty likely will become profitable on its season 1.
Before Marathon, they had released games of 7 of the 14 IPs with GaaS. With that combined with the PC push, their first party revenue is around twice as big as it was before starting the GaaS+PC pushes, with now over 40% of their first party revenue coming from GaaS.
Despite pretty likely not hitting their targets, Destiny 2 and Marathon will make money. Plus Destiny Rising had a great launch, TeamLFG is apparently progressing well (we might see their first game next year) and the Bungie staff moved to SIE/PS Studios contributed to GaaS revenue increase.
They are projects that weren't started within Sony. Very likely Sony expects to recoup the acquisition around a decade after acquisition or so, which is common for multibillion acquisitions.
Marathon got delayed, so very likely like with Destiny 2 they didn't reach the revenue target for the related bonus. Meaning, part of the $1.2M in bonuses weren't needed to be paid. And well Marathon and Destiny 2 is only a small part of what they bought, particularly when looking at long term.
Sony acknowledges in their financials that Destiny 2 has a brand value of around $200M less than they estimate when acquired, meaning the Lightfall underperformance vs their estimate very likely was of that size, so pretty likely Destiny 2 did a good chunk of money but didn't achieve their objective
And Sony didn't pay $3.6B. They acquired Bungie for $2.4B, and then there was up to $1.2B in bonuses, of which we know part of them because some were retention bonuses for people who left or got fired before completing the retention period, and other were performance bonuses.
Too early, Sony won't take any conclussion looking at only the first 2 days of US sales, which is what this covers. They'll check the worldwide revenue (including preorders) of game sales + addons revenue of a few months, plus also user retention, which will indicates future performance.

They have many fans wanting sequels of popular franchises like this one and who don't like other franchises that Sony is trying, like Concord.
Many companies, like Nintendo -or even Sony with Gran Turismo or MLB The Show- have many franchises spanning during decades. I'm 100% sure that at some point Sony will continue releasing Uncharted games, following the same narrative they could easily do sequels, prequels or spinoffs.
As a game developer since over two decades and as a player since almost four and who also researches videogame industry history, so who knows the current risks and challenges of the industry, what I comprehend that it is very stupid to let die one of their most successful and beloved franchises.
Please make Uncharted 5 with Nathan Drake as only protagonist
Please add a character editor to the game

Interesting. Do you mean that this quarter gen-x (and in a smaller proportion, boomers) were basically the ones who could afford to buy the expensive PS5 Pro (because have more money compared to millenials, gen z & alpha), distorting the typical recent percentages?
Please re-share with whoever you know from Barcelona who may help. My friend Ahmet is a Sr. Concept Artist working at Ubisoft Barcelona and we haven't heard from him in a couple of days, his phone has been offline as well.
