I managed to build a small replica for her display.

Apparently, it was a rare occasion where you could refuse a posting to a vessel, if it had previously been sunk.
Superstition and moral being the reasons I suppose.

My girlfriend's uncle was lost with the crew when Thunderbolt was sunk. She has a lot of the official documents of his MIA through to his loss, as well as his medals and other articles.
