To all the artists creating in these times: thank you. It’s not easy to make beauty, truth, or meaning when the world feels chaotic. Whether it helps you breathe or comforts others, your work matters.

Art doesn’t need to fix the world to be meaningful, sometimes it just needs to exist.

Learned the process for trimming perfect bound books at work recently and it's right next to the machine that makes them. Seeing the finishing process for perfect bound books makes me want to make my own book so so bad.

to those who struggle to continue drawing,
you are an artist.

You’ll never make yourself small enough for people who don’t actually love you. So be unhinged, stick to your needs, deeply love the things you love. It doesn’t need to make sense to anyone and if you’re too much, they aren’t the ones. A small circle who loves you is gold.

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

by the way, you're not doing nothing. Slow creative days happen. Rough days happen. Believe me, I get it. But staring at your WIP, visualizing, adding a note for later, hell even just italicizing a single word. that shit counts. it's something. you're making an effort. that's never nothing.

I'm am thankfully. So far nothing scary. Had to drastically alter and restrict my diet though but I'm slowly on the mend 😊 Hope you find relief and healing soon.

Hope they’ll be able to get you some answers so you feel better. Stomach issues are the worst. I just spent the last year dealing with them too. Had to get a CT scan and everything.
