A highlight was watching the beautiful documentary Mtu ni Watu, by Dr. Richard Kiaka and Dr. Hauke-Peter Vehrs, exploring the important but often unacknowledged role of research assistants. Watch the trailer here: youtu.be/b1ddvzhO2MM?...
Wrapped up a wonderful week in Prague at #ECAS2025! This is the last conference of my PhD, which made it extra special. I presented work on women’s mobilisation of local peacebuilding institutions in Kenya. A great programme made even better by the excellent company of colleagues and friends.
Delighted to see this out! Drawing on my interviews with peace committee members and research with @janakrause.bsky.social and Marika Miner, we reflect on Kenya's peacebuilding architecture. We argue that a narrow focus on electoral violence risks overlooking the ongoing threat of communal conflict.

Today Sudan enters its third year of war.
As the world’s largest humanitarian crisis deepens, there are growing risks of the conflict escalating.
Let’s hope the UK’s one day conference today focuses on how to stem the country’s destruction & fragmentation.
