I swear to god... how can you describe a neighborhood with an Aldi and Target grocery within HALF A MILE as a food desert?

Congratulations!
This is also why I, personally, think it’s Right and Correct to bully people that think they deserve treats for their political loyalty.
Buddy, we live in a time of parables. There are no treats. Only gnashing of teeth. Get on board.
Take off your hat indoors unless you are at a sporting event.
Also Good to see Fletcher supporting this. I think that Fletcher is an old school pol (in more ways than one) in that he is very good at cultivating relationships with different ethnic groups.
Agree. He has pursued a lot of the same progressive policies as Moriarty but has done it in a way that brings along career prosecutors and law enforcement.
100% but I unfortunately don't think that any of my non-student neighbors are going to really care about that. Their property taxes on the other hand...
Agreed. I wish coverage would say that every single family home that has been replaced by a duplex is an additional $12k or so in taxes and that these 30 tear downs will probably generate at least an additional $500k in taxes per year.
No real problem with ordinary folks asking about the 25th, but every time a congressman asks for the cabinet to remove a president you should read that as them abdicating their own duty to pursue impeachment through congress
Brrrrt
Lol come on. Wellstone spent close to 2 decades in MN politics before running for Senate. Extensive community organizing at county level, labor organizing in southern MN, ran for state auditor twice, MN chair for 2 Dem prez campaigns, DNC rep from MN. Not remotely the same as Platner.
Here’s where NYT put No Kings coverage on the home page of its iOS app
And it has the fourth highest score of all the projects. WTF!
the same way eliminating car dealers, realtors and other parasitic right-wing industries needs to be a goal of the left for its own survival, eliminating chriorpactors, the supplements industry and other quack medicine needs to be on the agenda too
This is St. Paul
the failure of Merrick Garland in dithering and adhering to norms that were no longer remotely adequate in the face of the threat of a Trump comeback is even more damning after watching what happened with Mueller
Again, I know this isn’t a popular view, but turning AIPAC into this lurking bogeyman, treating it as the core villain of politics, the hidden hand behind all our woes, flies uncomfortably close to some far darker stuff.
The amount we’re talking about it.. just doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.
It is actually possible to regulate gambling advertising, and while designing such a regulatory regime could be complicated, it can also be very simple, such as "there shall be no gambling advertising".
I'd like to read about whether recent high profile MN legislation had the impact that was intended.
Specifically:
- Has the 2015 buffer law improved water quality?
- Has the 2023 READ Act been successfully implemented in classrooms?
- What has been the effect of the child tax credit so far?
Looks like just a "driver" for testing. I was hoping to see how it handles Summit Avenue's potholes but it turned North at Snelling.
Drove behind a Waymo on Summit today
the seemingly inexorable march of antisemitism into the very heart of US politics from both the left and right is pretty depressing
I appreciate Evan Ramstad continuing to press the issue of population and economic growth for Minnesota despite the letters readers who are besotted with degrowth.
Growth can be challenging. Stagnation or decline is infinitely worse. www.startribune.com/ramstad-read...
every single psycho thing Donald Trump does he does only because almost every single federally elected Republican has chosen unilaterally, independently, and with complete freedom to go along with it unconditionally
Same
Also Norway is able to do it on easy mode because they are a petrostate with fewer people than Minnesota.
Every time I see a post about the socialist eco-futurist paradise of Norway I wish people would realize that it is only possible because they are a petrostate. They are the 7th largest exporter of oil, which acounts for 30% of state revenue and they have a lower population than Minnesota.
And a lot of them are Teslas
Dinner at Habanero. Dessert at La Michoacana Monarca. Always a good combo
Two Saint Paul businesses that had to close for a few weeks due to continued fed harassment and targeting.
Great to see them open again.
Fuck ICE.
