FWIW and aside the point: Geese is a really bad band, and I don't care if that's a boomer take. Sometimes its fine to just call it how you see it and stop allowing yourself to be conned into thinking you just don't "get" something that's obviously low-effort.

Someone needs to commission an investigation into how the Twins are managing to be good after selling half the team last year. I don't want have to hand it to the Pohlads but I'm afraid I have to hand it to the Pohlads.

Bands have been gaming and spamming social media to inflate followers and reach since the early MySpace days. It's just that no one used to admit to doing it, even if things like buying Twitter followers were open secrets.

It's remarkable how transparent the marketing company responsible for Geese blowing up are about their tactics here. Feels like 5 to 10 years ago, they'd deny everything they've owned up to doing (mostly spinning up accounts just to game algorithms and push the band into social feeds).

possibly a lot of people! if "1964" is a different version of the B15 than "1966," which is what I'm assuming is the case here.

do those years correspond with different models or is it just "good" and "better"?

for real though, I'm also bummed, and thought they'd get a bit higher return if they did move him.

The cover of the April 2026 issue of Exploits, featuring “A Shipwreck in a Storm” by Jean Pillement from 1782, a painting of people clamoring onto a rock in the stormy ocean as a ship sinks in the background. Text at the bottom indicates that this issue covers romance novels, Mitski, Half His Age, American Psycho, Alone, and Minecraft paintings.

It's no joke -- the April 2026 issue of Exploits is here, chock full of microcriticism from a variety of voices.

In Dillinger Four We Trust (Revisited) From the archives, in honor of D4's first song in 18 years.

can't think of anything more distinctly dillinger four than the band dropping their first song in 18 years on april fools day.

i dug my 2015 profile on the band outta the archives for the occasion.

I never thought I'd see the day where I stopped subscribing to the local paper.

I'm livid, but more than that, I'm saddened for what this means for our community and the state of the media. There is nowhere left to get trustworthy coverage of anything here.

Our local newspaper let go of three columnists for being too liberal.

I've canceled our subscription and will be sending a letter to the editor that will probably go straight to the trash.

non-zero odds that the NFL buys out the state of Florida and makes it a wholly owned subsidiary of the league somehow

Only one Florida team has won a Super Bowl in the last 20 years (the Bucs in 2021) and it was the only team in the NFL with three Black coordinators and the first team in the NFL with multiple female coaches

Something's missing in this apocalypse. This month's issue of Unwinnable Monthly features @vehement-ly.bsky.social on STALKER and masculinity, plus our usual crew of misfits.

One of the best and most underrated bands to come out of the 2010's emo boom (not going to say "revival" because AFAIK using that term is still a cancelable offense in some circles).

2 points on Trump's media capture:
1. Fascists don’t need to turn all news outlets to their side. They win if major outlets are simply too weak to tell the truth about them.
2. Fascists don’t need to make you believe them. They win if they pollute the news so much that you don’t believe anything.
