FWIW and aside the point: Geese is a really bad band, and I don't care if that's a boomer take. Sometimes its fine to just call it how you see it and stop allowing yourself to be conned into thinking you just don't "get" something that's obviously low-effort.

Bands have been gaming and spamming social media to inflate followers and reach since the early MySpace days. It's just that no one used to admit to doing it, even if things like buying Twitter followers were open secrets.

It's remarkable how transparent the marketing company responsible for Geese blowing up are about their tactics here. Feels like 5 to 10 years ago, they'd deny everything they've owned up to doing (mostly spinning up accounts just to game algorithms and push the band into social feeds).
