Calm down, computer software isn't making decisions about who lives and who dies in war. It merely processes a ton of data and then makes a recommendation to a human who has no realistic way to verify it

Malala Yousafzai is rightly known as an inspiration to millions & someone who stood against injustice while still a child. I was ashamed not to know the inspirational but tragic story of Iqbal Masih, an equally heroic young Pakistani, until I learnt about him from a kid’s book

James Bembridge on X: Hate is too weak a word for what I feel towards the NHS. I'd tear it down and salt the earth upon which it stood.
Lovely people, these Reform UK candidates for the upcoming election, and great to know they're on our side.
"Someone tried to strangle Sneako", "Clavicular just had a drug overdose", I refuse to believe that understanding any of these headlines is better for me than chain-smoking
On that note, shubho noboborsho!
This is the only thing I can find on Bluesky about this virtual #SciComm summit, but look at the heavy hitters in this lineup!
Run by Eco Well: founded by Jen Novakovich, scicomm'er/cosmetic scientist, also co-founded BeautySciComm. EW/BSC run boot camps, competitions, cohorts- links in next post

Move slow and fix things
Pretty cool. This isn’t the same as saying it’s leading to meaningful clinical improvements, but I’m quietly optimistic about these kinds of specific applications of AI in medicine. Been very impressed with our trial of an ECG AI tool, which we’re also publishing (presented at ACI)
It’s waaaaay more than it used to be. Or maybe people just didn’t feel brave enough to say it before. But my god it’s pretty much a mainstream view in certain crowds
This isn’t just about crazy Naomi’s banger tweet but I’m as alarmed by how many people don’t understand that the far side of the moon still gets sunlight as I am by the people who simply don’t believe in it. The worst thing about Artemis turned out to be getting reminded how dumb people are
As a Suk doctor, I am sworn to keep it for only myself
The spice must flow
Assuming the ceasefire holds (lol)
- we've solved the artificial crisis we created
- 13 American servicemembera KIA to say nothing of unknown WIA
- Hormuz no longer free to transit ($2M/ship)
- Iran gets $$$ and benefits from taking the strait
- Iran assumes they can keep their uranium and enrich it
If you find anything Lily I’d love to read it too. I treat POTS of course and there’s a recognised big overlap between the things you mention but not thought about a trans association
I have! Although I’ll admit I’ve not finished it…perhaps it’s a similar ennui creeping in but I drifted away towards the end of season 3. Just looking online now it seems a lot of people thought S3 was weak. I’ll try to pick it back up, I really enjoyed the first two seasons.
Wonderful to see Artemis II successfully launch
Recorded a few thoughts yesterday on why the coverage for this mission seems so muted. Top 5 reasons in response to a straw poll as to why not even scientists are particularly interested. In fact, ESPECIALLY not scientists

Hey we tea lovers welcome all tastes, we are a big tent…a tea pea ⛺️
I’m all for rehabilitation. Kanye has come out saying he regrets things he’s said, alluded to mental health issues. Deserves a chance to SHOW he’s changed over forthcoming YEARS
That’s not: “well a few tweets is good enough for me, let’s book him for three nights in a row next to Stamford Hill”

When medical care leads to a death, who’s to blame? And how does it get reported in the news?

Many thanks for watching Jonathan
This was so good actually
Motivational instagram story of a young woman showing herself running with the caption: Iran this. Israel that. IRAN 5km and the pain ISREAL
I don’t think anyone is topping this one, peak influencer
“Iran this. Israel that. IRAN 5km and the pain ISREAL“
Actually I didn’t realise how much better his figures are. I take it back lol
Even Bumrah went for runs, such a good batting pitch. Still pretty exciting in the end, praise where it’s due
If England had played Ahmed, they might’ve done this. Well, if Brooks had caught Samson…
I had no idea until this all started that the UAE licences and pays many influencers to live there and write positively about the regime.
That puts a whole new spin on things.
Propagandists in pocket of regime.
It's why all the messaging is the same.

kind of crazy that if you have enough money and don't like what you see in the media, you can just buy up every film studio, news station, and social media app and change it
