8 page One Piece fancomic set in the beginning of Wano, when Luffy brings food to Okobore Town. Page 1. Panel 1: Law grits his teeth and tries to hide by pulling down on the brim of his hat. He says, "This is humiliating. A pirate shouldn't be… giving out gifts or helping civilians." Next to him, Zoro takes a gourd of saké from a town resident and clicks his tongue before saying, "You've been hanging off of Luffy this long, and you still don't get it." Panel 2: Zoro grabs the infamous basket from Law's slack hand. Panel 3: He jams it onto Law's head with an evil grin. Zoro says, "If you hate it so much, just smile and wave, princess." Panel 4: From offscreen, Law mutters, "Damn Straw Hats…" Through a crowd of townspeople, a hand waves wildly in the distance. A voice calls, "Zoro! Over here!" Panel 5: The owner of the hand, Luffy, squints in their direction, shielding his eyes from the sun as he mutters, "Eh?" Panel 6: He points at Law in his basket hat and asks, "Who's that?"

Page 2. Panel 1: Law attempts to facepalm through the basket. Zoro is still grinning as he says, "Some pathetic guy I picked up on our way over here." Panel 2: Law and Luffy stand side by side. Simultaneously Luffy asks, "Some guy?" as Law asks, "Some pathetic guy?" Panel 3: A close-up of Luffy's eyes, squinted in thought. He says, "Wait a sec…" Panel 4: A montage of close-ups of Law's hand around his sword Kikoku, the jolly roger on Law's yukata, and Law's chest tattoo. Luffy mumbles as he looks, "You're… You're obviously…"

Page 3. Panel 1: "A friend of Traffy's!" Luffy finishes, grinning and leaning up into Law's space. Law blurts, "What? No, Strawhat, I'm NOT—" before Luffy interrupts him with, "So you're his fan, then." Panel 2: "Wow!" Luffy continues. "Traffy's pretty awesome if he's got fans here in Wano. He doesn't even do anything cool like shoot lasers or play the guitar!" Luffy and Law are silhouetted in the foreground, while Zoro stands behind them, drinking his saké and watching the mess unfold. Law grits out, "You know what 'he' DOES do?" Panel 3: "He makes plans!" Law snaps, gesticulating angrily. Panel 4: Law continues, "Plans that YOU IDIOTS keep screwing up!" Luffy is giving a head-empty smile while Zoro grumpily glances to the side.

Page 4. Panel 1: Luffy suddenly slumps gloomily. Panel 2: He frowns and crosses his arms as he says, "…THAT'S why you like him?" Panel 3: A little Luffy is now pouting at a small basketed Law. Luffy says, "Aw, man… Plans aren't cool." "Aren't cool?" Law asks. Luffy adds, "You should at least like him for being really nice or having a good face." "Strawhat, you—" Law starts, before his brain catches up and he stutters, "Wait, what." Panel 4: Luffy frowns in concentration, saying, "If you look at his face too long, it makes you go kinda—" Panel 5: He makes a variety of faces with sound effects: his eyes bug out with a boing, he glares and grits his teeth with a growl, and then deflates with his tongue out with a bleugh. Panel 6: Luffy snaps back up with a sunny smile and flowers around him as he asks, "You know?"

I learned recently that it’s an insult in Germany to call someone “hobbyless” or to engage in “hobbyless behavior” and it’s become my favorite way to think of assholes who have nothing better to do than to make other people miserable. Get a hobby. Build a model train and calm down.

One thing I’ll say about Tucker is that I never thought he was one of the dumb ones. He always knew exactly what he was doing, who he was hurting, and why. Calculated, deliberate, self-serving evil. So this bullshit “conversion” makes me despise him even more. Don’t fall for it.
