Check out my new post! This chapter addresses a topic it’s taken me a long time to face, and I grew from the experience of writing it. Note that it is going to be integrated into the existing chapters, well before events that were the hallmark of my own evolution.

This latest memoir chapter is sort of my "leadership, part 2" chapter, with lots of references to key moments I shared to help me manage career, family, and friends. Thanks to Drs. George Dover and Arnold Strauss for having my back during this part of my journey. open.substack.com/pub/kbjohnso...

Our recent piece in @springernature.com JGIM summarizes the state of AI in primary care. There are many articles about tools in development, but only a few about tools in actual use. We need a periodic survey to follow our progress. @pennldi.bsky.social @pennmedresearch.bsky.social
Our latest research on the penetration of AI into primary care has just been published in JGIM by Springer Nature. There are a lot of publications about AI in development, but only six about AI in use; this deserves to be followed with an annual pulse survey:

"[AI] disruption represents an incredible opportunity. However, the odds that this disruption will improve health for all will depend heavily on the creation of an ecosystem capable of rapid…knowledge about the consequences of these tools on health."

This episode of the New Yorker podcast is informative and depressing. Please listen. It’s also not an ideal way to find happiness, unless you want the US to be an untrustworthy geopolitical force. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

My friends thought others might benefit from the message thanking the American College of Medical Informatics for designating me as a Distinguished Fellow. I was grateful but fell into my usual imposter syndrome. I hope this inspires others! #imposter @hrw.org youtu.be/WmAVV_DQhc0
