the attack/defense choice mechanic, that is. but it's quite novel and people generally like it, so it feels like part of the soul of the game.
so I'm back to working on Magewinds v2 (I know, I know, move on Rachel...) and I keep just bumping up against the feeling that I can't get one of the core-adjacent systems to work perfectly and that I should just rip it out...
the only people who are allowed to say anything and do anything to affect positive change are powerful people, but everything they have to do to get to that position is in opposition to the idea of being principled and have values. but it's still your fault if you have principles!
we'd better start treating the idea of living in alliance with your own values as necessary, not 'indulgent', and stop acting like just getting in line and going to work and being a good soldier, having a good credit score, not disappointing your parents etc is something worth celebrating. sorry!
