Some tips from me:
- I've been playing the games on hard to evaluate them mechanically. I do not recommend this.
- Save often. The software crashes kind of a lot.

I figured out how to summarize these thoughts this morning: Destiny has diverted from its true nature of the FFXIV FPS to try to be Fortnite, they should fix that

Despite needing to play through hundreds of hours of main story to get to the endgame in ffxiv, it managed to bring in tons of players! And by the end, you don't feel like you *had* to play that story, you *got* to! Playing through a decade of Destiny content as a full story would rule!

I also think that an extremely valid complaint is that you can only play bits and pieces of the story! Bungie has always viewed friends bringing in friends as their way to acquire players, but they have such a compelling world, if they didn't constantly thrash their own content it'd be a huge draw.

People complain (I think rightfully) that they got rid of campaigns that people paid for. Those folks won't come back for anything new, but maybe they'll come back if the stuff that they removed came back.

The thing I really want Destiny to do (and that I think would improve its popularity) is to make the entire story playable as a campaign. I'd be fine with them putting the entire current story on hold for the next few years to do it, and I think it would bring in a lot of players.

Unless they staffed up for it, putting resources into solo play takes away resources for social play, which degrades the social experience and makes the solo experience more compelling. It can start snowballing from there.

The option to do it solo is likely part of why queues take longer at off hours - once the queue takes long enough players will just run it solo instead of joining the queue, which means the queue takes even longer than it would have otherwise.

Recently the xiv devs were like "people are upset we lowered the difficulty of a classic dungeon, which is fair, but we had to do it for solo mode" or you could just stop catering to players who don't want to be social in an MMO!!!
