Entirely correct! Kat also seems to be the rare candidate for Congress who understands the reality of this particular political moment. She's not waiting in line, playing by the rules, or respecting institutions because the other side isn't, either, and if Democrats are more attached to the idea of this country than the fates of the people who live in it, those people and that idea aren't going to last much longer. And yes, Kat is running on a platform of big-ticket items and Democratic Socialist priorities, but she's also running explicitly on being anti-authoritarian. In an age where even the most conservative Democrat is running against Trump himself, Kat keeping her eye on the real problem of ascendant fascism is a key point in her column."
