Found out through the medium of Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream. Sounds like someone is unfortunately not "Living the Dreeeaaam".

I learned recently that it’s an insult in Germany to call someone “hobbyless” or to engage in “hobbyless behavior” and it’s become my favorite way to think of assholes who have nothing better to do than to make other people miserable. Get a hobby. Build a model train and calm down.
paternal joy is cool actually
That's not good. Hopefully she recovers well, and can get the help she needs to not go through that experience again.
I'm sure the care package will be appreciated, as a reminder that folks care about her.
I mean, conceptually, nuns are hot. A person who has been trained to be polite and has some ethereal quality from their time studying divinity. Their clothing is designed to be simple, using fairly monochromatic colors, often in some neutral tones, or sometimes kind of subdued or pastel colors.
Don't you know? The only Good™ way to enjoy media is by never interacting with it in a creative way.

One could also be a little scamp-ish mouse, engaging in a little mischief.
furthermore, furries have a god given right to trains and anyone who speaks up against them better come with several hyperfixations worth of knowledge
got comm'd to draw teto which was a very nice surprise!
You can't let Ponkie near those, unfortunately. Not for any 4th wall breaking reasons, she just treats it as too real and bumps into stuff.
It feels like all my mental health problems just go away when i finally get time to relax. We as a society need more leisure time.
Koromaru: Arf!
Aigis: He seems to be saying "So here I am, doing everything I can. Pretending I'm a Superman."
Koromaru: Arf!
Aigis: He wants to perform a 🔵𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿 but he doesn't know how.
Protag: (I should look up information about 🔵𝘀𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 to help Koromaru out...)
There's another joke, though I'm not quite sure who said it - maybe some streamer - who said "Every teacher should get One." The "One" being intentionally ambiguous for comedic effect.
This just reminded me of that.
I too think of interesting comments, or stories, but know that if I shared them with people it wouldn't end well.
Though it's mostly just me seeing a funny topical image, but being unsure if I should share it with someone because it might come across as untoward.
I have no opinions on TSR. I'm largely referring to Modern D&D. The market is highly saturated, both with free TTRPGs and TTRPGs one must buy. Each one has different niches, has more or less complicated systems, and can be more or less modular.
D&D just happens to be more popular.
I feel like this argument contradicts your statement that it has staying power as a result of being around since the 70s.
Like, which is it? Did D&D die and get bailed out, leading to a new-wave of popularity and advertising from WotC, or has it been in the Zeitgeist as a franchise from the 70s?
I'm not sure about that, but I think perhaps because I don't imagine Hasbro or WotC getting into lawsuits over the incidental generic-ization of the IP that is "Dungeons & Dragons™" but, for it's niche, it's obviously ubiquitous.
I don't completely discount the idea of the staying power of old things, but not all old things are able to stay strong decades later.
There are media franchises that were popular decades ago that nobody talks about now. Things that may not have the same competition. Yet, D&D managed to hold out.
It received negative publicity amongst Evangelical Christians. To people who are not highly dogmatic Christians, it was people describing a game where people played with "demonic forces". Which probably got many people into the game.
Like, the Satanic Panic was bad, but it spread word.
Also, I don't know how you can say advertising has nothing to do with popularity. The Satanic Panic was a period of time where D&D received tons of free advertising. It gets movies, or references in media, which is advertising. WotC even used it in it's other important media, Magic: The Gathering.
Yet, while Pathfinder is a popular alternative, there's very little representation in media. There are a handful of video games that are popular, but despite it being a more easily accessible game it doesn't receive as much discussion on television or in movies or references in unrelated games.
It was the market leader when it came out because it was a novel concept at that time.
And it is kinda unusual. Niche genres that have multiple different games tend to have notable competition and diversity in people talking about them. Call of Duty and Battlefield.
I mean, I do think the concept that it's "Stealing the market" is far fetched. However, it's unusual that it has such a strong handle for being in an already niche hobby. Presumably it's due to the ability of WotC to advertise more readily compared to Paizo or other TTRPG makers.
Probably the use of periods in "tf" caused it to register as a url. Your commitment to accurate punctuation is hampered by inane digital infrastructure.
That's great to hear. Hopefully it stays that way for however long you need the help.
