Underneath Kate, on the left, there is a screenshot of the News Hub Scottish Election Coverage Series episode that they were both recently featured on. In large white font it reads: ‘Kate and Q Talk…Environmental and social justice, reparations, Reform and activism in formal political spaces. Smaller white font reads: ‘Listen to their episode on The News Hub Scottish Election Coverage Series on Spotify to hear more! Underneath this, there is a large white Spotify code which can be scanned to go to the episode.
I recently sat down with my wonderful fellow candidate @qmanivannan.bsky.social on an episode of Edinburgh Uni's The News Hub. We chatted about environmental & social justice, bringing our activism into political spaces, & my distaste for Reform and the monarchy.

I pledge to support kidney patients
I’m supporting Kidney Research's #VoteKidney campaign to raise awareness of #KidneyDisease and the impact it has on 600,000 patients and families in Scotland.

Out doorknocking with our amazing volunteers and fellow candidates across Leith, Piershill and Dunbar. On the doorsteps, common topics coming up include housing, our NHS and access to green spaces. People do not want any more empty promises. They want real change. @edinburghgreens.bsky.social 💚

Last time I looked Ballot Box Scotland had me about 5-6% behind the SNP, other parties then much further behind (SLab in third)
Too many women and families are being let down by a maternity system that is under enormous strain while midwives are being asked to do more and more in overstretched services.
That is not fair on them or on the people relying on their care.

A little goes a long way for us - we don't have the billionaire backers like other parties do, we rely on small donations from ordinary folk 💚
No, but if I'm elected I'd be super happy to have a conversation with you about this. We have some other important points in there about neurodiversity, inc training for healthcare workers, educators etc
Banning conversion therapy is in there x
Not to be all election-y about it, but in terms of trans folk having decision-making power, if the Scottish Greens do well in Glasgow and Edinburgh we're likely to elect our first trans candidates to parliament ✊
See. This is how you do it. In every other party in the UK (and institution) trans people are excluded from making any decisions that impact the lives of trans people on the basis that we are too biased.
Every. Area.
Particularly proud of our commitments to trans rights & healthcare - developed by some of my incredible trans colleagues in the party x
Our Scottish Greens 2026 Manifesto is out! So much great stuff in here, could not be prouder of our party - a beautiful roadmap to a fairer, kinder and greener Scotland

Scotland must always remain an open and welcoming country.
Lorna Slater speaking to people at the Edinburgh GATE protest (12.04.26). Protesting the exclusion of trans girls from the Girl Guides.
The only representative of a political party at the Edinburgh @guidersfortrans.bsky.social was @lornaslater.bsky.social of the @scottishgreens.org. The only party in Scotland that speaks up for trans rights.
The fact the Labour Party, Tories and Reform all have specific policies to make it harder to come here and be a social care worker is absolutely disgraceful when this country is going through a social care crisis. #bbcdn
