Another thought: Do you have a Kindle or other ereader? Suggest a “coupon” exchange for a book you really want. Ebooks are so much cheaper than hardcover. You can buy one for them in exchange.

Never a fan. His films are awful. He’s not charming. He’s just not an appealing person…and this nails it.

Why not suggest to them not to exchange gifts but to exchange an act of kindness to each other? Fix a broken whatever. Pick up dry cleaning for someone who works long hours…or offer to do a load of laundry once a month to take some pressure off a stressed family member.
