The ethical dilemma between game hunting & wildlife conservation:where game hunting is allowed, wildlife numbers have actually continued to increase.
Conversely, Kenya, which banned hunting in 1977, has seen some of the steepest declines in Africa. So depressing!

There was a time when the president inspired pride instead of exhaustion. I miss that more than I can say.
Brutal assessment. Hard to argue with.
The govâts plan for immigration will keep people working in key industries like care in temporary status for a decade or more, it will keep people in insecure work, make them more easily exploitable, poorer & marginalised -when did that become policy of a Labour govât?

This is crazy if correct. No10 and Keir Starmer were reportedly unaware that Peter Mandelson failed his security vetting. How is such a thing even possible? With all the questions that were apparently asked of Mandelson surely someone would have thought to ask âdid he pass his security vetting?â
UK and EU finalise agreement to bring UK into Erasmus+ in 2027. Over 100,000 people are expected to benefit in the first year alone. Source: Department for Education, 15 April 2026.
Today, the UK and the EU signed the legal text in Brussels today to formally bring the UK into Erasmus+ in 2027.
This marks a monumental milestone for young people across the UK, whom, from 2027 onwards, can experience transformative opportunities with Eramus+.
The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world.

Absolutely top class overview on the impact last night's results mean, not only for Hungary, but for democracy in general.
A shining light in what has until recently, been a very dark place!
đ„This is an incredible result!
A quick concession is of course in Hungaryâs best interests.
If Magyar also has a 2/3 majority (as looks likely) then heâll have full control to remove Fidesz corruption.
Finally- itâs a humiliation for Trump & Putin - and a boost for Ukraine.
The end of Viktor OrbĂĄnâs autocratic regime is a victory not just for Hungary, but for people who value democracy around the world. Congratulations to Tisza, to incoming leader PĂ©ter Magyar, and to Hungarians everywhere.
Orban is not conceding because he's honourable. He's conceding because his defeat is so comprehensive even he can't pretend he won.
The death penalty only for Palestinians convicted of terrorist murders, but not jews, is yet another nail in Israel's already trashed standing in the world.Netanyahu is nothing but a busted flush;predictably clueless, when the region is desperately seeking solutions

Beckham is certainly a man of varied talents. Good for him. I'm
sure he will apply all the enthusiasm he had as England football captain, to the not inconsiderable task of painting a garden gnome for charity.
What is there not to like!

The time for prevarication over closer ties to Europe is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.
At least Labour is no longer tight-lipped about this.
I like your cliche, which must have passed me by!!
Only time will tell over Europe; who knows, we might both be pleasantly surprised. I really hope my mild optimism re Europe isn't misplaced.
Starmer is no angel, but I think his judgement over Iran and the need for closer ties to Europe is just about right.
There has been a lot of criticism of our PM; some if not all of it justified.
But seen through the lens of the war in the Middle-East, Starmer is on the right side of history. The unintended consequence of this conflict is to have bought the UK closer to Europe.đ

The threat to destroy an entire civilisation is beyond unconscionable and unacceptable - itâs not just about the niceties of diplomatic language but the intimidation of an entire nation whose people are already under attack by the ayatollahs Trump claims to oppose. We cannot stand by as he rips up international law and risks global chaos as even if he doesnât follow through this time we are all paying the price for this war - itâs time to ask congress about the 25th amendment and what their redlines are for triggering it.
My statement tonight on President Trump:
Walthamstow many of you have been in touch about anti social behaviour caused with fireworks - I was proud to support Sarah Owenâs private members bill and pleased to tell you we now have chance to make it happen via consultation on new firework regulations. Get in touch if you would like to help!
One man put us in this deadly quagmire. One man is wrecking our economy. One manâs immigration agents have terrorized our communities. One man has ridden roughshod over our system of government.
We said "No Kings" 250 years ago. Congress must say "No Kings" today.
If not, they must be replaced.

A mind-breaking muddle of news this morning: Humans going further than ever before in space and a lunatic president openly threatening war crimes at home. The sublime and the degenerate. Hard to keep it all in your head at once.
